RSheff: They don’t have to rescan everything, only a selection. About 6 months ago they said to me “Sorry, it’s asking me to scan everything”, so it does happen.

Never in the UK, certainly not with Monzo. You change to GBP and deposit. Some banks will, I think hsbc maybe?
