Gum disease

Bleeding gums and bad breath can often go together, particularly when there’s plaque or bacteria building up around the gums. Brushing well and cleaning between your teeth every day can make a big difference. If your gums are bleeding regularly, though, it’s worth having them checked by a dentist or dental hygienist rather than just trying to cover up the bad breath.

UTI once a month - help

I have suffered with urine infections on and off for years and was always given Macrobid or trimethoprim which never cleared it up for long or completely, and also gave me severe side effects. A new doctor started me on Keflex and it has cleared it up properly - very minimal side effects if any.

Perimenopause experience and thanks for how this forum helps me

I’m new on here have been reading the posts & can certainly relate to everyone else’s symptoms. My anxiety is through the roof ,don’t want to go out , brain fog , feel like a lump in the throat ( more panic) thought I was the only person with such a weird symptom. Now in process of seeing a doctor, fed up feeling like it . Thanks for everyone’s posts.

Week 5 on Fluoxetine and struggling to cope - what to do?

Hi, I’ve not messaged on here before but have hit a very low point and struggling to cope. I’ve always had anxiety and had some spikes throughout the years - the last one was about 8 years ago and i was put on fluoxetine 20mg. After a couple of hellish weeks it worked brilliantly and gave me the calmest years of my life…finally felt what it was like to enjoy things rather than enduring them. I decided to come off it when I had my baby as i felt in a good place. 3 years later and i’ve hit a very hard point (I won’t bore with details) and my anxiety was starting to effect what I was doing …started cancelling events etc. I went to doctors where they suggested sertraline but because i’d taken fluoxetine before i requested that again. I remembered the side effects so started on a lower dose - just 10mg. I’m now in week 5 and it is the worst i’ve ever felt. I did start having a few good days so thought i’d turned a corner but my anxiety attacks the last few days feel almost constant - i’m not sleeping, hardly eating and heave or vomit a lot. My anxiety has always hit my stomach. This has happened since about day 5. The fear is excruciating. I know you’re supposed to sit with it and let it happen but it’s impossible not to freak out and think about calling 999. I keep thinking one more week but it doesn’t stop. I’ve read some people on here saying week 5 can be awful? Did it improve after that? My brain is obviously racing with the worst outcomes - made so much worse now i’m a Mum l

Citalopram - Sinus / Headache or Covid

Hello After nearly 4.5 months at 15mg Citalopram everything started to settle and back to normal for 2 months. Felt a bit wobbly one Saturday, and by Tuesday had a cough, headache and sinus pain, earache this has taken almost 2 weeks to get better but still have fatigue (beginning to wonder if its been Covid) however, my citalopram seems to have stopped working and anxiety back. Can anyone relate?

How to strengthen your core

I can confirm that strengthening my core has helped with my back & neck issues since retiring 7 years ago. When working (computer worker) even although I had special chair, equipment and did pilates once per week. I now do Pilates 5 days a week and try to do a walk every day and rarely have any issues with lower back (degenerative lower spine) and neck (discectomy C5C6). Two sessions we vary using pilates ring, ball, band and small weights more intense the other 3 are more traditional and I enjoy every class. My balance is fantastic managing to balance on 1 leg the other leg straight out behind whilst pulsing ball/ring and or leg. going form sitting up on floor to lying back then back up again several times with ease using my core muscles and breathing, sometimes using ball or ring in front, Russian twists again using breathing and core muscles not neck. There is one particular lady online I go to for home probably shouldn’t say which but she is from Australia and now in Malaysia I think she takes it slow explaining everything. definitely give it a go.
