@pierrec I’m revamping this thread because other than my full agreement with tom’s request I’ve to report the issue caused by the _OffsetSubD not having any preview of the results. When using the _offsetSubD command most of the time I have to undo and retype the number to accomodate the shape to what I need. using the number only may work for mechanical stuff but whan you draw jewelry you may need a bit of eyballing. I wish to see how much the offset gives me in both ways: by number and by dragging. Would it be possible to have a preview similar to the _OffsetMesh? This is already requested here: https://mcneel.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/issue/RH-59930 and I understand the problem but the preview could use the control mesh to give “a preview” of the result.

The Nautilus component don’t give very great results, and I can’t use Python 3 as still I am on Rhino 7.

It would be nice if McNeel gave you some king of Check or Mark as an official developer of the plugin as well, making it harder for people to try to empersonate you on this forums.

Some time ago I reported something weird on this forum post Scammers inside package manager? (OpenNest Clone?) Rhino for Windows Sometimes, from time to time, I check package manager for new releases to see if anything that I might need was publicated. I think that OpenNest might be a target for scammers, look the attached screenshots [image] [image] I wonder if we are inbound to have even more trouble now with AI programming so accessible.

For a Shrinkwrap tutorial, I run into a bug when using contour on a block object. In this file: Run _Contour Select all objects base point is set to 0 Direction is Y-axis Distance between contours is 100 mm. Then I see the contours being created and Rhino continues to calculate and after a while Rhino crashes. Rhino-bug-contour.zip (7.5 MB)

Trim and Split work for me in Perspective viewports in V7, V8 and V9 Beta. I did not test in earlier versions. @Lagom What is not working for you?

I’ve had similar issues with FilletSrf. Small differences in surface continuity, edge alignment, or fillet radius can cause it to fail. I’d check the surface edges and continuity first, then try the fillet again. The example file should make it easier to pinpoint the issue.

Callum Sykes: The CLI would allow you to have it run heedlessly, grab the .rhs from somewhere and update the current Rhino. It is worth saying of course that this does not keep any existing user settings! It should however create a backup. Hi Callum, after I (hopefully) understood how this tool should work, it turned out that I can’t test it, because company policy does not allow me to run the required .exe, probably because it is not signed/trusted And I can’t do anything about it. I tried both using CLI and from explorer. Can you “sign” it somehow? So: Pro’s: Allows to load/migrate all sorts of settings, much more than what we do now (we only attempt to sync aliases + plugins) and likely also more than the bare settings-Scheme.xml. Makes initial setup of Rhino possible by grabbing settings from “master” .rhs image in one operation instead of multiple manual steps. For instance, one step of our manual setup nowadays means installing “master alias” that we later use to load/update other aliases that do all sorts of things. No dmp file was created. I noticed the issue with VisualARQ 3.12 RC2 and Rhino SR35. I now realized that every time i install an RC version i cannot install an SR version over it, still in control panel both versions appear installed.Only if i manually uninstall the RC version can a previous version truly be working in rhino. So in my previous post even if i thought i was having the issue with 3.11 too, according to VisualARQ/AboutVisualARQ popup i was still with RC 3.12 installed. For this discussion after manually uninstalling RC3.12, i installed VA 3.11 the issue does not happen any more.
