I just aquired a 1948 Cub and it smokes a little. I was going to run some Seafoam through it and change oil to see if this will clear it up a might. It runs great otherwise. Starts easily with the crank handle. Just trying to save myself a ring job.

From time to time questions have been asked about valve seat replacement, doing an engine rebuild right now that was a mess, it needed 8 new seats, if I had thought about it would have take pics from the start so here we go To replace valve seats in a cub is a pita as the original seats are part of the block, so that means the block has to be counterbored to the correct size for the replacement seat, this job has to be done carefully as the water jacket run very close to the seats and if... Here's the situation. Remember, I am dumber than a bag of hammers when it comes to diagnosing electrical problems! 6 volt system, positive ground, with voltage regulator. It seems to not be getting power to the coil. Runs great if you straight wire the coil to the negative post on the battery. Also not showing a charge on the ammeter. I recently had the rear main seal replaced in my Cub (I have no room to do this job). I got it back and everything seemed great until I tried the touch control. It wouldn't move. I finally put some weight on the fast hitch and it reluctantly went down. Then it reluctantly went up. I checked the fluid and found it to be a quart low. I replaced touch control values o rings last year while touch control was in place, stopped leaks. noticed today the front leaver wasn't going all the way forwaed. can any one explain the correct way to adjust the stops under the touch control. I bought a second 140, my old hood had a small ding so swapped them, The new one had 12.4x24 new tires so I swapped them, google said the 16" front tires would swapped with the 15" on my old 140 hubs barring and all. Hey fellas, finally got around to rebuilding my Super As pump. How far down in the top cover should the input shaft oil seal sit? I have it pressed down and flush with the edge of the cover face, but it almost looks like the edge of the black seal is right at the top edge of the smooth area of the input shaft it rides on. Does this look right? Next question, when I tighten the two bolts to clamp the two halves together the shaft gets stiff to the point I cannot rotate... Read more

Twenty years ago I had a lumber drying business. This is the building I used to dry lumber. When I closed the business, I stuck in quite a bit of lumber I had left over and a few other things. Recently, I decided to clear out the building, and use it for equipment in tool storage. A couple of years ago I noticed signs of termite damage. When I got into the building, it was pretty bad.
