Finally got the base painting completed for the Aurora Wanderer Whaler, with this model I’ll need to step the deck in, THEN glue the halves together because of the deep contour of the bulwarks. no way to fit in place after the hull is together. So I’ll need to be a bit careful once assembled, she is going to be heavily weathered so a little wash hides a lot.

Thanks. I’ve gotten to where I try and do at least a simple base for my completed models, even if it’s just a simple road surface, to give context if nothing else. I used a map of the area of operation, mounted on a simple plaque a couple of times, also effective.

To answer your post’s question, my newest kit is in the table top gaming scene. I am taken as to how crisp these little toy soldiers are created in. Only released last year 2025. Really is cool. Womans rights?! yea right… ^ _ ^

Jeff Herne, former editor at FSM, developed a line of acrylic paints called Scale Colors. They were accurately matched to contemporary color standards. He was also selling tank tread sets. Jeff sold the paint to Squadron and is now their in-house color consultant and 3D designer
