Well then you probably don’t like WMR with the Oasis driver that now also works on Linux as it is not from any vendor as MS completely abandoned WMR.

Pimax needs to address an EDID issues. It reports incorrect checksum. See Community pimax branch of Monado. There is a workaround the community has created to quirk the kernel driver patch but needs to be applied after each PC reboot. So it is in the works on both pimax and community side. It should be interesting to see which side achieves it first. There is a user on Reddit who did get his Dream Air working to turn on displays but no distortion profile loaded and fps was low.
Hey Mike Is it fine on the pimax runtime? With Sboys3 is maybe Steam Smart Smoothing on? For Sboys3 driver issues best to post issues on their GitHub as it is a 3rdparty driver Okay saw your other posts. In theory if the Sboys3 driver is rendering faster imho it shouldn’t have dropped frames. So not sure what is up with that.
@PimaxQuorra Have you filed a support ticket?
I for my part accept, that this is not a viable company. What I do not accept is never ending hacks, workarounds and partially functional open source tools as opposed to vendor support. The time of high resolution on Linux is simply not here yet. It’s only a hand full of scenarios where it is worth it anyway. Primax is just off my radar now just as simple as that. No hard feelings. Closing this tab now Have a wonderful time in VR and RL!
It is ridiculous to have to join a discord when ppl already signed up for EVO when it was first announced. @PimaxQuorra please get this fixed with the team. Ppl already signed up for EVO they should not have to chase updates to get the new version Also please talk to the team to stop making Discord channels on whims. There are several abandoned pimax subs taken over by spam bots. Instead of making new ones reformat old ones. It is just creating a mess for ppl to keep track of endless pimax discord servers
8KX in Elite Dangerous have black box in center, I had to go back to the 1.44
Same issues i reported about 2.0.2/2.0.3 still have not been fixed in 2.0.4. Same FOV issues(anything other than WIDE FOV becomes Square boxes instead of naturally Round, and custom FOV just gived the boxes even smaller with a black bar in the middle of your eyes…so for example again… Normal FOV is just Square boxes in your Headset instead of natural looking/shorter FOV) this issue didint exist in 1.44 and below. This is something they’re now doing and ignoring P2 headsets??? And the Inverted PP on and off box issue still there(on is OFF and OFF is ON)… none of the things i reported and sent was fixed. So, for my P2 headsets i am forced to stay 1.44 and below..
I upgraded tro EVO 2.0 form the latest EVO 1.? and I have the original mouse issue from the first version of EVO. the mouse is so laggy its basically unusable
your argument is valid. One may wait forever… But I do not want to use headsets with less than Pimax 8KX HFoV about real 140-ish degrees. Currently, as far as my 8KX works, no downgrades from my side. So, Steam Frame is no alternative, like most other current VR headsets. Currently XTAL headset with truly high HFoV seems only to be “available” and with linux support, still a little bit “expensive” yet, even a NV 5090 may not be enough. Let´s not speak about other vapor ware like Pimax 12KX. I still hope for some “workarounds” to make use of Pimax headsets with linux. Never tried the monado/wayland workaround with enforced direct-mode yet, need to give it a try. In addition to, a lot of good tools like Whirligig etc. have no native linux support. the tweakin will not end. I do not have that time to spare, I need a quick and easy solution. Sounds detrimetal to linux, isn´t it?
Hi!! yes correct. I took Caucasus and Afghanistan randomly and kept testing in there. Need to test in other terrains. I have updated to Pimax Play v2.0.3 all good so far did not have time to test properly i will do it during the next few days and make an update. Headset Firmware still on V1.0.21 From the first quick tests I saw that if I switch GPU Upscaling OFF the frame rates drops a lot, like with the previous versions. Both in FSR and NIS ON top results. In theory we should keep the GPU Upscalinf OFF but I just keep FSR ON as I always had it ON when got best performance in previous versions of Pimax Play. I now put back the FOV Crop to Normal still steady around 120fps. Attached last settings from yesterday initial tests. DCS settings still the same as in my guide. pdf24_converted.pdf (1.4 MB)
GoldenEye in real VR is here and it feels like standing in the N64. GEVR is a from-source GoldenEye 007 port for PC, native OpenXR. Not an emulator overlay. You bring your own USA .z64, unzip, drop the ROM in, hit Start-GEVR.bat, and you are Bond in the headset. Latest is vr443.1. This is the one where a physical step actually moves you through the level instead of sliding the world, the guns stay in your hands when you lean or walk, and Dam’s sky stays pinned when you look up. Turn speed is on the intro screen if you look right. Recenter is both thumbstick clicks. It is still a beta. Crates can pop, water can look off, expect some crashes. It is still worth putting the headset on. Facility, Dam, the guns, the scale of it — that Bond-in-the-room feeling is real.
