So my newest guitar is coming with 60s Burstbuckers. Alnico-5 with resistance at 8ohms. Short question... Am I going to like them for my brand of metal? DropB or sometimes C#std. I got along with the BB3s ok...just barely. Gibson claims these are bright and airy when overdriven. But in general I have been completely underwhelmed by Gibson pups. I recently got into actives again. I got an LTD Truckster that came with a set of EMG Hetfields that I wasn't quite loving, but the guitar was already setup for actives, so I figured I'd revisit some that I already knew I liked better. I equipped the LTD with a set of Fishman KSE's and my Gibson Modern Lite with an EMG 81/60 set. I like both sets better than the Hets. This is an interesting issue, at least to me, My favorite electric guitar has developed a tuning issue. I can tune the first string to an "E" and and I can get it to a perfect harmonic at the 12th fret. However, once it's in pitch an "F" note on the first string, will be a bit sharp. An "F#" wo;; be slightly less sharp and as you fret the first string up the neck, a "Bb" will be in tune. The neck is straight, checked and double checked. I like mine. It's a great platforming for modding, but you have to know quite a bit about circuit to tweak it exactly how you want.

Hi, im wondering if this wiring diagram is possible for a hss with a 500k volume pot, 500k tone pot and a 250k tone pot. The blue lines are supose to be 470k resistors and purple line is a 0.22 cap. Green cap is also a 0.22 cus that is all i have right now. I dont really understand guitar wiring so a explanation is appreciated.

Ive been playing a lot of songs in C lately, so I decided to downtune my EVH 78 from C# to C. The guitar is strung with a set of 10-52. Some people might thing that's not enough tension, but I think they got soft hands. It's working wonderfully. It's pretty much what Tony Iommi did but one guage heavier and a half a step down

New to the forum and have been doing some reading prior to joining. Seems like the perfect place to get opinions. I just put a hot rodded humbucker set in my guitar, and I am really not liking.the JB at the bridge. It's too boxy and compressed. My amp is a Marshall DSL 20CR. I swapped out the 70/80 with a G12M Creamback. SD1 used as a signal boost in the front. Boss GE 7in the FC loop. Month or so ago a group I have filled in for asked me to come by and help bring new guitar player on board. Guy had an SG and a Blackface Princeton Reverb. Extremely talented with heavenly tone, clarity, touch sensitivity, and rich harmonics. Of course talent played a major factor but I inquired about pickups and took a glance at the setting on the amp. Ok so starting off playing in the early 90s. I learned from my father who was a professional musician in the 60s thru mid 80s( and again in 2000s) Anyways i was taught early on to allways use what the pros use.
