Probably the only people who have never held onto a kayak or other items in the water are super swimmers. Triathlon Beginners . And they wonder why the number of deaths at Ironman has increased when a beginner is doing an Ironman as a first tri, and OW swim, and asks as its a long way can they hold onto a kayak

To be honest I’m not sure whether I will be doing any races next year I’ll put an update on a different thread in the next week or so which will explain
Yes a GC campaign across the 10 means staying in the bunch and not sprinting it out (only loses a couple of seconds) for the flat ones and spending your matches on the hilly races and saving something if the last race finishes with an 8 minute climb. I should have looked at the courses before steaming in too , not sure if the courses and the lengths/climbs and when they occur stay consistent.
I did these a couple of weeks ago, may have been responsible for my illness the following week… Really enjoyed the early rounds, probably too much if actually trying to place in the GC, as I was stuffed for the final 2 rounds and shipped a lot of time, especially up Box Hill. As you say, not the best timing, just happened to have a solo Sunday afternoon that I wouldn’t normally have.
Take your Tiny Races and raise you….Turbo 10. Basically 10 Tiny races over 2 hours. I did this last week - first 3 were super short like 1 crit city lap, but you only had 60-90 secs between the races. Next 6 were the 8-10 minute classic Tiny races with 3-4 minutes between, then we finished with a longer race finishing at the top of Box Hill, so a decent climb. Mad, but great fun. Only thing is there’s only one time, late Sunday pm so not the best slot but really enjoyed it and will definitely try these again.
Spin class first thing. That’s my lot for today.
I did 250km solo a few weeks ago, no-one took drone footage of me.
11km 56-minutes 5:06 /km
Due to a migraine when I woke up I only ended up with an easy hour on the bike at the walklway where I normally do the parkrun, probably classes as gravel, and a short swim later. Garmin has my training readiness at 1
I’ve just entered the Olympic distance at Hever on the weekend. No business entering another race but have been inspired to pin a number on again.
175KM ALONE! 😱 Mathieu Van Der Poel Does The IMPOSSIBLE Before Worlds! | GCN Racing News Show. Erm, since when is ridng your bike worthy of a thumbnail? 175km solo is a bit poxy, eh? Why not 200km?
Haha, yeah the bike routes certainly weren’t flat on the couple I looked at. Prices seemed reasonable as well but guessing they aren’t closed roads but if they’re quiet that’s not a huge problem and ADH is mostly open roads. Not sure I’ll fit one in next year but tempted depending on how other races go.
