Our strata has planted about 50 of these because of their beauty and drought tolerance. The result is new seedlings everywhere, difficult to control. Also, the seed head is a tiny awl and we just discovered that it burrows, moving in one direction only, into the skin and subsequent tissues of dogs, cats, all animals….why are we planting this non-native ornamental grass? Why do we encourage gardeners to plant it here?
