How much of a hand did Leo Fender have in designing the shape of the modern Cutlass guitar, setting aside its similarity with the Stratocaster shape? Did he come up with the shape of the Cutlass from the mid-1970s? I'm hoping someone who knows the history can clarify or shed some light on this. Hello. I primarily play an uncommon gauge that ranges from a .10 to a .38 string. The exact strings are .010 / .013 /.015 / .026 / .032 / .038. I know that Ernie Ball produces a heavy bottom set. Is there any chance of a “Ultra Light Bottom” type of set? It sucks buying a bunch of strings separate, and more people play this gauge than you’d think. But yeah it’s odd.

I've broken four strings over the last week (three brand new, including two Super Slinkys) at or around the 11th fret as I bend from Eb to F on the high E string. The guitar is a Silhouette, less than a year old. The 10th and 11th frets seem smooth enough, so I don't know what it causing the string to break. After the string breaks, I put on a new string, stretch and tune to pitch, then after about 15 minutes or so the new string breaks, every time at or around the 11th fret. I am... Read more

Just making this post in the hopes it will help potential buyers in the future avoid making the mistake of buying an Axis EX. I bought one without doing enough research and ended up way overpaying for it because I thought it was a real Ernie Ball Music Man guitar that was like the EVH model. It turns out it’s not . If you’re considering buying one all I can say is please do more research than I did. Ernie Ball really should put out some kind of official statement about these guitars... Read more

I know the Special has a slightly different pre than the previous SRs, but i’m curious what exactly was changed. I can find frequency response charts for the older 3band, but can’t find any for the Special 3band. I know the ultimate tone tool is my ears, but i like having the numbers & frequencies so i can be as accurate as possible in my adjustments. Thanks in advance!

Just got this sweet new Cutlass HT today, very beautiful guitar. So far I've only played around with it though a Headrush, and was dialing in some really nice tones...
