For those of you that don’t run a sump or have been without one at some point, how does it or how did it affect your stocking levels? And what did you do for filtration and nutrient export instead? What are the pros and cons of not having a sump, if any?

My tank has been running since February Tbs live rock. Cycled through, had the ugly stage ect. Tanks been doing great. I did a water change Friday, 15%. Now this garbage came up and covered everything I’m guessing it’s my water. Ordered a new resin and carbon. Looks like silicates got in but now my torches look like crap too Ph 8.1 Calc 450 Allk 8.9 Magnesium 1350 Nitrate 10-15 Phos 0 Salinity 1.026 What could I be missing? Pre and post pics

Looking to add some Ricordea mushrooms to out tank. Does anyone have some available or a recommendation on a LFS that has a nice selection?

I acquired this beast about 10 years ago with a system I purchased. However it has just been sitting since then. Not sure what it would take to get it working again. Might be parts by now. Free to anyone who could use it.

is that a good price? my lfs has a bunch of them in right now all looked healthy from what i can tell attached to rocks or glass

Hi everyone! I just upgraded to a canister filter and the hoses are very long. Can I cut these to suit my set up? Or do they have to be super long? I know the canister has to be at least 15” below the tank, but these hoses are like 4 feet long. Here’s the filter. (I’m at work right now—thinking of my reef as usual— and don’t have a pic of the actual one).
