hi jwhyhfr what is grayed out in your screenshot is not the text (fill) color. it is the color of the outline of your text. you can select a color here as soon as you use outlined text. utnik

I don't think that the issue is with the colors or the Scribus version. Would you mind sharing a screenshot that shows the text frame and the content palette?

Many thanks for your help Sadly, as I install this new release and immediately check the font color, there isn't any option. The pen is grey and locked on black.

hi aflo12 i can't reproduce your issue with scribus 1.6.6 and 1.7.3 on mac os. the paragraphs are the same as in the source file. what is your scribus version and operating system? could you provide a sample .odt file that produces the problem? utnik
