How do I go about writing a network OAT to a Carrier/ALC RTU Open board? I am using the correct BACnet AV, but the "mstr_oa_temp" still shows the hardware OAT value. Is there a configuration change required at the i-Vu wall control or do I need Field Assistant to make such a change? There are other points that don't seem to have any effect either, such as those for limiting the setpoint adjustment. I was able to limit the SP adj at the wall control, but the touchscreen really sucks 😂. Side... Writing OAT to Carrier RTU Open

I have only ever used appion SCR. They are fine, but they leak. I just rebuilt them, I haven't even tested them since, maybe they are better, but they don't last very long. I bought some appion core depressors, and they leak also. They aren't even that old. Has anyone found the holy grail of SCR?

Ran across many many many failed compressors. Locked, Grounded, open windings. Yesterday was the first time I found one with what I suspect to only be failed winding insulation, but only at high voltage. Instantly trips breaker. No LRA no hum just instant trip. My first test is always to ground. Nothing. My winding ohm out 1.2-1.6-2.8, nothing abnormal there. I go to pull the plug to double check all my numbers and to inspect. The plug itself has been very hot as it had signs it melted... first for me (that i remember) in 18 years

I currently have a 4 zone aouh36kwas condenser connected to 3 indoor heads 24-9-9 I would like to add 1 more due to the fact that the 24 is rarely used on our outdoor 4 season room. If I chose to hook up a additional 9k I believe I would experience combination errors If I did install another 9k and disconnected the communication wire s of the 24k. WOULD IT WORK? My thinking if not - is to invest in a AOUH45 at a $$$$ cost. and not create any issues

I’m at a point of my career I feel alittle lost and scared if I’m going to be completely honest. I have been doing hvac going on for about 6 years now. I grew up in Maryland most of my life. I got a job at 19 as a helper within 6 months moved up to maintenance tech another 6 months moved up to service tech and have been a service tech ever since. doing about everything residential troubleshooting: mini splits, oil and gas furnaces, and boilers, heat pumps, ptacs, water heaters, tankless... Young HVAC tech going through what feels like a midlife crisis advice needed.

I'm interested in knowing the size and composition of in-house controls teams for a medium to large campus of buildings. I work for a public government org, with controls installed on about 50 small, medium and large buildings, located on a campus of about 1.5 sq mi. Our team is small, with a supervisor (senior controls tech) and 2 techs. When needed, we work with our in-house electricians and hvac techs. We do monitoring, controls repairs and calibrations, and programming where necessary... In-House Controls Teams

I have a customer whom has been complaining about white flakes mitigating from the supply registers. The ductwork is all flex. The system is a split gas furnace system with metal supply and return plenums. The unit was replaced two years. I checked the blower wheel, the burner tubes, coil all the way through the unit and see no evidence of the white flakes? Has anyone experienced this phenomenon? thanks
