Runaway Idle - by: asphalt900

While gross looking, just grabbed them from a bin. These are BOTH the KZ750 brands/types used, Mikuni to the left in all photos. Mikuni is much easier to work on and a simpler design then the Keihin that started using 2 main jets in 1981. Once you establish your poison we can proceed further. I have a sneaking suspicion while you surely addressed the jets you might of overlooked the air correction jets or perhaps something you weren't familiar with.

As noting this symptom happened previous to anything done. I know you bought the aftermarket kit with other jet sizes but what they supply as a stage 3 might be a bit much for other parameters your 750 doesn't have. Just because you bored it a little, vacuum dynamics won't be that much more then a stock engine. You didn't mention any other head work or change of cams? Intake restriction or pods generally affect lower running pilot, 4-1 exhaust mains. Because 1983 was a sorta transitionary era, using different brands of carbs. Do You have the Keihin CV34 or Mikuni BS34's?

Dyna S and the Chinese copies - by: zed1015

Dyna changed the type of epoxy used to hold the magnets a few years ago which caused them to come loose so reverted back to the original and put out a recall to the dealers for the affected units. Some had already been either sold or didn't get taken off the shelves so Dyna's policy is to replace them free of charge if they fail with this issue. You just have to contact them and they will supply a new one. As for the epoxy. I have modified a few rotors to re position the magnets and used Araldite epoxy to set them in with no issues but you could always put a light center pop on the edge of the hole to prevent the magnet coming out if it did work loose.

1980 kz750 ltd jetting/power issues are sapping my will to live - by: Nessism

But like you said, I’m going that I’ll get another 5-10 miles per gallon once everything is running perfectly 😁 Typically, when converting to 530, it's best to maintain the stock front sprocket diameter. Stock is 13T and to match that in 530 you need a 16T sprocket. Running too small a sprocket can lead to the chain rubbing the swingarm, and it also robs power from the small diameter.

Dyna S and the Chinese copies - by: bound

I like the idea of not having a mechanical advancer but dont want to pay the expense of the dyna s because then id rather keep my bike the way it is now. These units remove the need for the igniter, correct? If so, id be interested in these Chinese knock-offs and perform what you have explained. It removes the igniter but you still need the mechanical advance mechanism Shucks! I must have it screwed in my head. I just really dont like the mechanical advancer so maybe I should look at a zn1100 or gpz1100 housing and pickups. If push comes to shove ill figure something out on my end. I just have a lot of problems and sometimes its hard to tell what problem is causing what!!!
