Interesting topic regarding suspension 'service' from Hywel. Something which needs thinking about when looking into upgrades. I'm considering changing my suspension to Nitron 1-ways. However, servicing every 2 years (£150 a corner??) adds a hefty chunk to the yearly service costs. I've fitted a baffled sump which in turn needs the baffles changing every 2 years (£50 parts plus a couple of hours labour) and before you know it your paying £1000 a year for basic servicing. When the C service comes round your looking at potentially £2500 if suspension/sump etc.... all need servicing at the same time! Food for thought.........

Hello All Putting my CAT back on for MOT today, I noted the the hangar fixings for the exhaust had fallen out. (Prbbably holding by the CAT hangaras it was at the same end) The steel plate are not an issue as I can see them on elise spares. But I cannot find the Nut plate that seems to slide in the body. (I am guessing it has fallen out ) or the Fixings. All help apreciated . More googeling to do.

As a new owner I need to do the inevitable waist seal replacement. Can anyone comment or advise on the real world fit/ quality difference between the original £400 each Lotus C117U0010F part https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/C117U0010F.htm? and the the SJSportscars alternative which is £210 https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/SJ117U0003.htm? I can see the end appears different in the photos etc. I can see various post when searching and DIY hacks but cannot find any direct reviews or feedback. Many thanks 🙏

Recently I bought my first Lotus, an Elise S2 08 R. There’s a few basic bits I’d like to get sorted and ideally would like someone to do this for me. I’m not mechanically minded at all. Left mud flap is missing, I’ve bought the part but someone to fit it plus a couple of other minor bits like a rattling brake pad, probably a spring/clip(?). I’m East Midlands, near Peterborough and wondering if there’s any recommendations for Lotus garages/people this direction?

Hi Everyone, I need to replace the MFRU on my Elise 111R and I am looking for some advice please. Firstly, can this be done from above, or is it necessary to remove the under tray and do it from below? I am uncertain how much slack are in the connector leads. Also, should the unit simply slide up and off the mounting tab, or is it locked somehow, as mine won't budge. Is there a locking tab that needs to be deflected to unlock the unit? This issue is not mentioned by any owners, so I am unsure why I can't get the old unit to come out. The connectors are underneath, so if there is no slack in the leads it would be almost impossible to change the unit out working from above. I can't find anything anywhere about this, so I would be very grateful for any advice. Many Thanks Simon
