Hello All, I've got a hatchback that won't open. My 2010 Mini Cooper S has no emergency release for the hatch, I've taken off the part with the release switch and license plate lights. Then tried using a bear wire into the outside two electrical ports in the wiring harness to release the hatch but nothing happened. Now I'm stuck and need help. Evidently there is no power in the harness and I can't find the fuse to check that out. Can anyone help me from here? Very frustrating indeed.

anyone with a n47 diesel with timing chain failure ie snapped, I can repair the damage and fit new OE spec triton chains and new clutch and the 3 days it takes in labour under £2k , on some if have no camshaft damage two hundred less, alo n47 diesels with bottom end knocking and crank failure, the fix is head off and new rods sort crank and oil pump technically, a rebuilt engine, depending on if the crank is not bent pr worn past the oversize on bearings, looking around £2500-£3000 , using... mini cooper d and sd timing chain snapped, i can repair them

I just finished a full rebuild of my 2006 Cooper S engine. The timing chain tensioner will not extend from the collapsed/locked position. I've tried 2 new tensioners now with the same result. I have 60psi of oil pressure at idle and the tensioner parts come of the engine covered in oil yet they will not pop out to extend to the chain guide. I'm totally at a loss here as I've watched countless people simply replace them in the car and have instant success. Anyone seen this before? Any ideas?

2006 mini cooper convertible r52. Gonna try keep it as simple as. Sorta hoping someone has had something similiar and can point me in the right direction. Ive put together a report where im up to after checking loads of stuff. Basically the issue came whilst driving mid journey. Nothing long distance. No heavy use. Hi, been on this forum for a while as a guest but joined up to get some advice if possible. I’ve got an N16 with the dreaded hot idle misfire. It is on number 4 and disappears when you unplug the cam sensor. Did all the usual swapping coil pack, plug, injector but it stayed in 4. I also tried known good vanos and cam sensors. I didn’t do a compression test as I thought this points to a loose valve seat so I just pulled the head. Very surprised to see that all the seats looked ok, just a... N16 hot idle misfire

I bought this car about two years a go as a project car, was away in the new forest and seen it for sale and ended up buying it shipping it back my unit. These N47 engines have a party trick with dpf blocked and unburnt diesel collecting in engine oil until thins it so much it knocks out the crankshaft bearings, and oil pump, i've done a lot fo these engines like this total minefield, some you win, some you lose, biggest problem is finding a good crankshaft, as they tend to bend if run too... 2013 mini countryman cooper SD n47 with crankshaft knocking repair,

my daughter bought this clubman spare repairs was hardly running and smoking like hell, so today pulled engine and box out found crankshaft totally destroyed timing chain on last legs dpf totally blocked and turbo done , suspect it had a turbo runaway at some point where runs on own oil until it stops,, so had a choice between repiar this engine, ie crankshaft and bearings, new oil pump, head gasket stem seals head bolts oil seals etc or i have found a low miles 1,6 n47 from my mini... 2012 mini clubman knocking, and smoking, badly

Is it just me or has anyone else found autodoc to be an absolute nightmare. Constantly changing prices, really slow order processing, wrong parts recommended, slow despatch, slow delivery.... is it just me or has anyone else had the same experience?

Hi Guys, Ive been facing an issue I cant get to the bottom of. My car drives great in all conditions apart from WOT where I get a massive single missfire (or what feels like a missfire) above 4000 roughly. I've changed coils (bosch) and plugs are brand new colder plugs due to tune. Its got a new chain and ive checked the timing again today to be sure its good. Also changed all the vacuum lines and boost solenoid as I was chasing a low boost issue aswell. Im a bit lost at this point and not... Weird issue

I recently purchased a 2008 cooper s with low oil pressure hoping a new oil pump would be the fix. I first checked the pressure with a guage, cold 30psi hot 0psi. Took the oil pump apart to find it reasonably good. I then remembered the previous owner had said he got the head overhauled due to oil consumption. He had replaced the valve stem seals,tappets and valves and also replaced the timing chain and rocker cover. A new vanos solenoid was also replaced. He has the head vapour blasted when...
