Hi all I have been mulling over how I should approach the issue of when I finally get a layout done, how I would I set up the points and signals control and overview of the layout. Looking through the web I've seen different approaches, each with I presume their plus and minus points. The ones I have seen are the following. PC based - obviously in cahoots with some kind of DCC setup, the layout is mimicked on a PC and displayed on a screen, and the points and signals are controlled by... Layout overall control - ideas?

Hello and welcome to my third layout, or rather the third attempt at my first layout! The model The model is in OO gauge using a mixture of Peco Streamline and Fleishmann Profitrack forming a double track continuous loop around a central well which is accessed by a lift up flap. The Fleishmann track is leftover from v1 of my model. It was bought second hand and is really good but for the discover, just in time, that most of my locos derail when crossing the curved posts, of which... Hello wello everyone! I'm munchou, been in Japan for more than a decade, and last month I bought my first train kit (from KATO) in a second-hand shop. Yay! Years ago, I was offered an N scale (they call it "n gauge" here, by the way) locomotive (a D51-498) that has been sitting on my shelves since then. I didn't even know it was motorized. I also got a local police station (TOMYTEC) as well, I realized I lost a pole. Note that here the scale for props is 1/150, as it seems only trains are... Hello everyone I have started building a railway on 7ftx4ft purchased a flying Scotsman Hornby set single rail for my 13yr old autistic son who after collecting 500+ Thomas trains decided while hospitalised he wanted to go model route everything went smoothly till a few days later we went back and picked up pack b c d so it now has 3 rails so had to get another controller also and this is where everything has gone wrong as I have used the track link adapter thing in the correct place but now... Morning all. Rather than create different threads for my builds which are in different stages of development, it's much easier to have them condensed together into one thread. Circumstances are constantly changing and my build plans seem to swapped around daily lately! So currently there are several layouts in different development stages.
