Hello! I'm Blukkat! I've been a fan of OA for about half a year! I am a novice digital artist and have a vested interest in character writing.
Hi, I'm just getting into OA and this is probably the most expansive, diverse, largely consistent and well-thought-out worldbuilding project I've ever seen! Color me impressed. I'd love to try contributing some things, it seems like you could write almost any kind of story in this universe...

Hi everyone, My username is Paradoct. I’m 27 yo and I live in France. I discovered OA through Steve Bowers’ 3D illustrations featured in this YouTube mix . Since then, I’ve spent quite a lot of time reading articles about OA. I’m interested in political economy, social sciences, history, technological development... Looking forward to discussing these subjects with you!

DokTwo on the OA Discord server has mentioned that he likes to contribute to scientific research by lending his computer’s processing power, so that an organisation can uncover the dynamics of protein folding, intermediate conformational states, and protein structure. Later in the conversation, DokTwo said that those of us involved in the Orion’s Arm Universe Project could contribute by also running Folding@home on our PCs. What do you think about putting out a call or proposal so that anyone who wants to, can sign up and have the Folding@home software running on their PCs? Below is an explanation of how it works. Quote: Folding@home (FAH or F@h) is a distributed computing project aimed to help scientists develop new therapeutics for a variety of diseases by the means of simulating protein dynamics. This includes the process of protein folding and the movements of proteins, and is reliant on simulations run on volunteers' personal computers. The project utilizes graphics processing units (GPUs), and central processing units (CPUs) including ARM processors like those on the Raspberry Pi for distributed computing and scientific research. The project uses statistical simulation methodology that is a paradigm shift from traditional computing methods. As part of the client–server model network architecture, the volunteered machines each receive pieces of a simulation (work units), complete them, and return them to the project's database servers, where the units are compiled into a

So... I have been a fan of Isaac Arthur for a long time. And in that I started to generate a setting. A highly possible setting in which almost anything can happen set in the nearest possible future. Then I had a story and beefed it out a bit. Showed the setting notes to ChatGPT and asked where about to post it. And one of the options was here. And now I am stopping and wondering if this is more akin to planting a sapling under the shade of a fully grown tree. Both perplexing and vexing.
