Dear all, happy to follow the request to introduce myself. I got certified as a Divemaster this year. Mainly looking for an exchange with other divers. However, I could also imagine changing my career in the future for the diving industry. I have recently been contemplating the compatibility between myself and another diver who requests to dive with me when he is in town. I don't think he really knows anyone else here so I feel sort of an obligation I guess. There seems to be a lack of understanding or unwillingness to learn about any deco planning other than what his instructor taught him. I signed up with an excursion through our cruise ship with Stuart’s Cove for our stop in Nassau. The shuttle bus to and from the operator, the equipment rental, and the boat assignment was very unorganized. Dive briefing were adequate. We dove two sites, Steel Forest and Mike’s Reef, both moored to a ball, both on air. Steel Forest was centered around two wrecks, about 80 feet maximum depth. The question about how to mount a transmitter using a short 4-6" hose comes up about once a year. Many divers like to do that as a precaution from someone grabbing the transmitter when it is directly attached to the regulator. Attached are some photos of how I do it so that the transmitter is tucked away. It is simple, put the transmitter directly on the hose with a spool (yes, you must use a spool). Suunto just announced a pair of new computers, the Nautic and Nautic S. Anyone have thoughts on these? I've been in the market for a new large screen computer and the Nautic looks very interesting. I'm looking for suggestions on managing my weights on my twinsets. I currently use a v-weight and put most of my weight on the tail (4 to 7lbs total). This works really well for me underwater for maintaining nice flat trim. However, on land and on boats this set is very heavy to manage. With single tanks in our club we usually just use removable weight pockets or weight belts, so moving equipment around becomes easier for everyone. National Hurricane Center The tropical Atlantic Basin slept in this year but there are a couple of disturbances now. Most of the models I have seen are showing one of the disturbances (the western one) petering out before it gets into the Caribbean and the other one making a right turn up the middle of the Atlantic, but they both bear watching.

I have 2 Hollis single bladder 45 lb wings for sale. 1st wing is in excellent condition. Only a few dives on it. Holds air & valves function properly.. $350 + S & H 2nd wing is in fair condition. Hi all I've previously sought advice in this forum about diving the JJ in 'tropical config' (i.e. 3mm shortie or just tech shorts & t-shirt) for deeper / longer open water dives. Everyone said it would be very legs heavy. I bought lighter fins (changed from Jets to Deep 6 Eddys) but it was still basically impossible to trim without active finning (as everyone advised - this unit is built to be dived with a drysuit). Hey, I'm not exactly sure where to post this because it spans different topics. Current setup I dive single tank recreational and have begun to get into UW photography. I have a decent camera in an Ikelite housing w/ strobes. I'm A.O.W + Nitrox with approx. 95 dives. I'm interested in mainly wide angle photography of pelagics, but also have a macro setup for when the dive suits. The International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) is no longer recommending that in-water rescue breaths be administered. This has major implications for dive rescue, yet I haven't seen much news on this major update to in-water rescue standards. wanted to start a discussion thread to see what the community thinks about this update? All thoughts are welcome!
