I guy sent me a Turkish pump 12 gauge to pattern. It has a Vortex Viper red dot on it. I have patterning software that measures the POI in addition to the pellet counts. I’ve shot everything from AA Super Handicaps to the Federal 3 1/2” 2 1/4 ounce lead. (Brutal). Pattern center varies by up to 6” high to 6” low and right to left just as much. I shoot hundreds of patterns but never with a red dot and beads are as or more consistent. Just curious if there’s some scope issues or not.

I could use some help from people who know O/U shotguns better than I do, because at this point I genuinely don’t understand what is going on. I bought a new CZ Redhead Premier 12ga, 28" in late July. From the first day, I could not get the barrels to assemble normally to the receiver. I’m not talking about a new gun being stiff to close — I mean I cannot get the barrel assembly properly seated so the gun can be put together. So what techniques do you generally use once you see the clay after calling pull? A. Move-Mount-Shoot. (none is drawn out and the shoot part is just about when your face hits the stock) B. Hello Benelli lovers! I just purchased an SBE3 Super Magnum, but I’m still a bit hesitant about whether I made the right choice or if I should have gone for the AI version instead. I also had the choice between the Magnum and Super Magnum, and surprisingly the Super Magnum was about $400 cheaper. Has anyone here used these versions and can share their experience?

I have a right handed, cast, side by side. Beautiful exhibition grade walnut. Problem is I’m a left hooker. Recently discovered a local artisan that could cut the stock to add an adjustable cheek piece. Question is, does anyone think this is worth doing? I really don’t want to have the stock bent to left cast as I’m not sure it’s a sensible option.

I’m sure at this point they have worked it in as an important part of their pre-shot routine, but I’m surprised at how many of the top shooters in the world very deliberately look down at the heel placement of their stock on their vest (I assume checking to be below the line) before they call for a FITASC bird. That seems counter-productive to me: To crane your neck down and adjust your eyes to focus at 10”, immediately before you need them to focus at 40+ yards. Obviously, the practice... Why would I buy a shoot gun with a MSRP just over $1000 dollars. Just because I didn't have one. Savage / Stevens 555 sporting. Got the gun, horrible triggers 6/7 lb, to light in weight. Shot it and put it in the safe, almost three years. A shooting buddy asked what I did with that gun. Told him it was not to bad of a looking gun but to light and horrible triggers. Hello, I’ve recently started shooting trap and skeet and will eventually start shooting sporting clays. I come from 3-Gun and have been using my benelli M2 3 gun just to test the waters. Shooting clays is a ton of fun and I have quite a few clubs close by to shoot often. I plan on purchasing an O/U for a dedicated clay gun. I’d be shooting 35% trap, 35% skeet, 30% sporting clays (sporting clay course is a bit more of a drive) There’s tons of information but would like to get other’s... New to clay sports and getting first O/U

Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Some or most shotguns go Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom. It's a very masculine and pleasing sound. But others go Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Ploooosh. One out of every dozen or so rounds sounds like a plooshy kazoo noise instead of a proper boom. It's a little embarrassing. Is it side-effect of porting? My guns I notice this on have polychokes with the vented collars. I notice it on some over/ unders at my club too but I'm not sure which ones; maybe... Why do some shotguns make farty kazoo "ploosh" noises sometimes?

Ok, this Nov will be the start of year number 3 for me attempting to do reverse pottery with clays. First 14-15 months only shot 4 times but getting out more often lately. Got back into Houston a few days ago and hit up the SC course back to back and once more tomorrow, trying to take full advantage of the downtime from work. Shot stations 1 thru 6 on Yellow this morning until the Hunting with Heart charity shoot had to get going, finished on White stations 7 thru 10, would I be mortified to... Getting Some Practice In
