I have an Ariens, 1971 model # 910965 which over the years I have had issues with the machine going into neutral, so last year I decided to tear into it and replace the friction wheel in hopes of fixing the issue (foolish me). Well after diving into the disassembly and reassembly (many times) I now have a complete understanding of that dang carriage/neutral catch (thanks to the fine folks on this forum). I bought an old ariens 20" snowblower. The drive wheel was suspect from the start. Looked at online videos and was reluctant to dive in. they were for newer units Made the decision and found it easier than expected. Three bolts hold wheel in place. No shafts to remove. Place the new wheel om the flange and replace the three bolts. I was given a Yard Max YB4628 snow thrower that runs great but needs paddles. Does anybody have an idea where I can find some that fit? Yard Max has discontinued this machine and when I called them they said they had no paddles and would not be getting anymore. So far I have tried Toro paddles and they will not work.

With super el nino in the mix, how are you feeling about your local upcoming winter. My area in central New England is predicated to be warmer than average, with more rain/slush/ice than snow. I personally don't like a wet winter. I tend to consider winter/heating season to be November 1-March 31.

So I got a free powershift last spring with a popped Briggs engine so I replaced it with a Tecumseh both 8hp. The issue was the Briggs was taller than the Tecumseh so I thought the belts from a 824 would work on this. What happens is the Auger is good and that belt is fine but the move forward one seems to be engaged and the machine will go forward as soon as you put it in gear, like the belt is engaged all the time . Do I need a belt with the green type coating on it as this one is a 1/2"... 828 Toro Powershift issue

I’ve had my Arctic Storm since 2019. Haven’t needed to make any repairs until recently. Needed to replace my auger belt. Went on Troy-Bilt’s website and ordered the one required for my model. It’s too small. I’ve removed all tension and even loosened the tension pulley. Nothing works. I confirmed that the belt number is meant for my model. If this is how other repairs are going to go, I’ll think twice before I buy another from Troy-Bilt. Any suggestions for fixes?
