It's just starting to cool down in my area and mice start to find warmer homes, usually in your home. I started thinking that I haven't ridden the Wee in about 10 days and when it sits to long mice move in. There's a little compartment under the seat that they like to turn into a nest, so I decided to check for unwanted inhabitants. Sure enough, they had filled the compartment with pink insulation. I evicted the critters and cleaned out the insulation. I'm keeping the seat off when not... Mice Season Reminder

On my other dual sport Suzuki, I fitted a device so that if the chain were to snap, it bouncing against the engine wouldn't damage the case. I don't have such a thing on my gen 1 Wee. Tho I haven't had such bad luck, I just fitted my first rivet type master link and Murphy's Law is knocking at the door. Did anyone make any such thing?

I recently swapped out some sintered brake pads of unknown mfg on my 2017 650. They were not quite worn out but I was curious to try the DP pads I had as extras. The previous pads were decent, but the DP ones seem to have more bite and feel. I am running Nissin CBR 600rr calipers with braided lines and a 1000 Vstrom master cylinder. They seem quite powerful at 70 plus mph. Glad I made the switch early. Made in the UK and reasonably priced.

Last vstrom was Dl1000 2012 model. Since that time, has the Vstrom morphed into crazy deep riding condition modes? I find at 65 I seek more nostalgia than technology. That said, ABS is a useful keeper. Deep menus with too many riding modes to ponder, not so much. So the question is, are the newer stroms complicated with riding mode programs or have they kept it to a KISS principle within reason?

I have changed air filter of my 1050xt. When I removed right body cover on fuel tank, a small square to round shaped nut fell to the ground. Anybody knows what is this nut?

I know this has been addressed before but I'd like to revisit it. Do fog lights help very much or are they mostly just to be seen? I ride year round except when it's snowing or freezing rain. And with deer season upon us, my headlight does not project the beam out far enough. I'm looking for lighting help and am considering installing additional lighting. Thanks for any help

Without wanting to do too deep a dive, I thought that I’d ask (besides cc displacement) what are the upgraded differences between the original V Storms and the current models?

I did the non sports bike track day at my local track this past week on my '09 DL650. I ran comfortably at the front of the middle group all day or at the back passing people. A lot of the fast group was serious track riders, racers, or instructors and many were riding pretty fast bikes like big naked bikes Street Triples and fast tourers like VFR. Middle group was mostly bikes like BMW R9T, a Honda... DL650 at the track.

I scraped the black aluminum side pannier on my 2013 650XT on a concrete block. Anyone know what paint I can use to touch it up, without having to repaint all three boxes?

Hope this message finds everyone well. I’m looking for some opinions and anecdotal experiences with not just JT sprockets (which I’ve gathered are pretty reliable and used a lot), but JT’s chains as well. I foolishly purchased a chain and sprocket set for my 2015 dl650 before doing much research and before looking at reviews and it seems pretty mixed. I’ve looked at just about all the reviews I can find about there chains and some report absolutely no issues at all other than some premature... Experiences with JT chains? Particularly the 525 Z3 model?

Does anyone know if this skid plate will fit a 2008 DL1000 ?

I just bought a 2005 V-Strom 650 last weekend with 35,188 miles. On the ride home, it wouldn’t shift up to 3rd gear. On the test drive, I only rode it for about 5 minutes; I see that was my error… I thought I was able to shift to 3rd and 4th gear while briefly on a main road. I’m a brand-new rider, but I’m fairly certain that it had no issues shifting because on my ride home, as I went to shift to 3rd and released the clutch, the engine rev’d quite loudly. I’m pretty sure I would have... 2005 won't shift to 3rd gear
