Redeye Bass in northern Alabama on the Kabuto 7’ 3 weight glass build that I just finished. Mr. Yasuyuki Kabuto designs and makes these glass blanks in Hokkaido, Japan. He knocked it out of the park on these tapers! If you want the best of top-tier glass then you owe it to yourself to cast one of these. On the maiden voyage with this rod I lucked up and crossed paths with another fly fisherman (a member here) and asked him to try the rod and give me his opinion. He wanted to keep the rod... I have purchased my fair share of small bag, brand name tungsten, as well as bulk no name tunsten from whole sale websites like Wholesale Fly Company. I'm not here to knock the possible fact that they're not really tungsten, and I'm not even sure it matters if it's a lower % of it that arguably makes it wrong to advertise as tungsten, but I think both the big names and no names alike are selling stuff that is low enough amounts of tungsten that maybe they should advertise as such. I purchased a Trxstle rod rack for the roof of my LX470. Most of our fishing is blue lining for brook trout. I’ll use this rack when driving between trailheads and spot-hopping, not for storing rods long term. I purchased it used at a good price and decided to give it a makeover. I've recently started carrying a backpack for extra storage when hiking into fishing spots. I've used general purpose daypacks and they do just fine except for any extended time in rain. I recently purchased a TFO Solution in a 9' 5wt and thought I would share with you all my thoughts on the rod, particularly since there aren't many reviews out there yet.
