Stylish jacket that still.performs

HI COMMUNITY! My 10 year old spyder jackets gone missing and thru my tears I am searching for a replacement that is fitted at least 20k waterproofing and has all the features for serious skiing. Everything seems like a boring shapeless parka or shell. any recs?

Grateful for Backcountry

Late start to the resort season this year in Tahoe with my pass (ikon) primarily opening terrain during the holiday blackout. Thought I wouldn't get any turns in before New Year. Makes me grateful once again for backcountry access, gear and partners. Glad to fit some tours in, while I had time off work. Made it to a new to me spot too, so extra rewarding. What keeps you coming back to the skin track?

Days you’ve been on snow 2023-2024

Hi starting a thread to track our days count on snow, to continue the thread by @Mudgirl630 for 2022-2023: How many days have you skied so far? How many days have you skied so far as of today, 12/11, and where? www.theskidiva.com My count is 1. Entered my first day details here: https://www.theskidiva.com/forums/index.php?threads/stowe-and-bolton-valley-2023-2024.28047/ Anyone else?

Skiing here in Europe?

Greetings from Italy, everyone. It’s been eons since I was active here in the group. So much going on. Still look forward to meeting up with other Divas to ski, whether here in Italia/Europe, or East Coast USA. It is great that ski season is coming up. Some places it’s already, or almost arriving! Cheers, everyone! Marian

Oktoberfest at Saddleback!

Saddleback is doing an Oktoberfest this Saturday, 10/3/26! Looks like some nice activities, aside from the obvious beer, lol. Autumn is definitely in the Maine mountains and the scenic lift rides should be worth the trip alone. The art shows usually have some interesting things as well. Oktoberfest – SaddlebackMaine.com Munich meets Maine in the annual Oktoberfest celebration at Saddleback Mountain! Get ready for a keg tossing, stein hoisting good ol' time. Save the date - Saturday, October 4, 2025! www.saddlebackmaine.com

New England resort uphill

Last weekend, I had great fun skinning the uphill wooded trail (not downhill slope) at Magic Mtn with AMC Women's Resort to Back Country! Wondering if there are other resort mountains in NE that have trails dedicated to uphill only. The mountains where I downhill ski offer uphill on the edge of a downhill ski slope.

Do Your Bindings Tighten in Extremely Cold Conditions

Lately we’ve had single digits and subzero windchills in the early morning. I’ve been having a hell of a time stepping into my bindings, particularly on the left. My left knee is a bit strained and I thought it was due to this, but my right ski is more difficult than usual as well. This has me suspecting that it has something to do with the cold temps. I’ve never experienced this before and it has me curious.

Get your own Ski Diva stickers!

I had a new batch of stickers made not too long ago. They're 2" round and great for sticking on skis and helmets or giving to friendly strangers on the lift who are interested in the site. If you'd like some, shoot me a PM with your address and I'll get them in the mail.

Custom Insoles

Last year I bought my own boots and skis for the first time in many decades, so I was renting when I skied just to avoid lugging skis around. That was not a good plan because I LOVE my boots and new skis but the boots; omg the difference! I could wear them just for comfort if they weren't bulky. The bootfitter did a great job and they were formed so that they shell wouldn't cause compression on my bunions. I bought upgraded insoles for them and can't say I had a problem but he... Read more

Winter is COMING!

Okay maybe a little optimistic, but my horse started shedding last week. He has been a VERY good predictor of the weather in the 9 years I've owned him. This is about 3-4 weeks earlier than he usually starts shedding! Time to think about ski season (while it's 96 out.)

Daymakers or frame bindings for starting out?

Dear Divas, I'm a long-time lurker (or at least, it feels long in terms of my skiing life) posting for the first time. Thanks to everyone for all the discussions and reviews so far! I've learned so much from here. So first off, I'm a newbie still learning, if learning quickly according to my instructors; I can get all over the mountain if it's groomed but I can't do moguls (yet!) Now, I only got myself fitted with a proper downhill boot 1.5 seasons ago (in NZ ); they sold me one that fits... Read more

'27 Black Pearl 88s and Solomon Strive bindings Feedback Please

I'm sure there is a thread, or two, about the '27 Black Pearl 88s and/or the Solomon Strives but I couldn't locate. I've been skiing the '21 Black Pearl 88s and I just love them, but I'm thinking about replacing them this year with the newer version which sound even better. Did anyone demo them last season? Also I've been skiing on the Solomon Z10s forever and am considering the Solomon Strive bindings (probably the 10GW as I remain a solid 5.5 DIN setting). Has anyone skied with them... Read more
