Starts 13, 14 and even 15 went off without a hitch. Yea, I know, the 16th time will be 'the one'. Did Piaggio install a batch of dodgy Demand Sensors in their 2013 to 2016 1400 series bikes? Yes Did some Demand Sensors get replaced due to the voltage drop of the original Lead Acid/AGM battery? Very likely. Will my Demand Sensor someday 'go bad'? Quite possibly. I'm glad to have a new one on the shelf to use as needed. At least an URGENT SERVICE or a SERVICE message, if they return, don't render the bike unuseable.

I see the drive shaft angle being a concern with 2"/5 cm more ground clearance. I'm guessing about 4°-5° extra drop. Maybe tilt the motor to help? Just guessing the motor tilt would need to be about 3/8"/1 cm on the front. A sump spacer from Steiner Dense would probably add enough oil so the pump doesn't suck air into the system. I have no idea on how you go about tilting the motor. How far can you tilt the motor before other problems creep into the mix? Bought one off Amazon a few years back for the EV. Works great, small screw in the center, dab of blue loctite, works fine, . It shows as unavailable on Amazon now but its actually an aftermarket HD part--Harley OEM # 67215-89 and 67117-85.

The transmission was laying in bits in the bottom of one of the boxes for years, but it wasn't missing anything critical. A new 4th gear was purchased from Harpers with the updated bronze bushing. One of the shifter forks was severely worn, and good used shifter fork was purchased from The Guzzi Doctor. The layshaft output roller bearing was replaced. Patrick Hayes modified the pre-selector housing for an o-ring seal. Patrick also machined and installed the stainless sleeve for the throwout system. It shifts on the bench very nice.

We rode the parkway on the way to AK in 78, very scenic.Stopped to camp in Jasper ,looking forward to some good Canadian beer but due to a strike all we could get was Miller High Life.It got worse,bears got into our food supply overnight despite hanging the bag from the goal post like bear proof device.We still have the aluminum white gas bottle with tooth marks ,they had no problem getting into canned food,granola,honey, bread,peanut butter ,tuna ,etc.The rangers must have had some big laughs after we complained in the morning because they sent us to the special biker camping area the day before.
