Dear All, Your help please with diagnosing what might be up with our beloved Red Fred (kids' choice not mine!) who seems to be a bit off colour, lethargic and hiding away at the bank of the tank. We've been away on holiday and so tank maintenance has not been as good as normal, but it's a well established tank with lots of plants, a good filter with lots of additional media, low bio load and everything seems stable (except for a bit of an algae outbreak). We've had him about a year, was... What's up with Fred? Help diagnosing and treating pls!

Hello everyone. I rescued my betta almost a year ago who was suffering with SBD. I was able to fully treat him and he was fine for months. A few weeks he was starting to have buoyancy issues again so I started fasting him and giving him Epsom salt baths. I had also noticed he started fin nipping. After no signs of improvement, I decided to move to a hospital tank. I noticed today he has some fuzz on the end of his tail. He is currently in a 3 gallon hospital tank with tannins, a heater, and... Fuzz on bettas fins

Hi everyone! I recently got a new male Twin Tail Halfmoon betta, and I’m doing some research to make sure I’m feeding him properly. Right now I have betta pellets and freeze-dried worms, and I’ll be getting frozen worms soon. I’m trying to figure out the best feeding schedule, portion sizes, and how often to offer each type of food . If you have experience with bettas, what feeding schedule has worked best for you? I recently moved my betta into a 20 long tank with new plants and substrate (Fluval Stratum). Prior to moving my betta into the new tank I made sure to cycle my new tank for 6 weeks as suggested on the substrate instructions due to high NO2-3 readings. My tap water naturally is hard, and out of curiosity I tested the water parameters of my pur filtration to see if there’s any difference. This is my little Sunny Sunshine. 🐠💕 Sure he looks cute and innocent, but you can see the devil in his eye. No silk plant, gravel vacuum, or heater is safe from his wrath. He is currently trying to devise the best way to attack and kill the HOB filter…. Or he has reasoned that if water comes in that way maybe he can get out that way. 🤔 I wouldn’t put it past him. My Betta has an ordinary lamp light. I adjust the brightness manually throughout the day. His tank is positioned so that he gets light from a window across the room during the day on about 1/3 of the tank. I searched Google and the AI thing said Bettas don't need a full spectrum light, but I wonder.... I don't have any live plants, but I'm curious about a living animal not needing full spectrum light. People who live where it's cloudy all the time get depressed and find relief by... Full spectrum light...?
