Just found out I am pregnant

Hi all, I just found out a couple of days ago that I am pregnant. I am a type 1 diabetic on a HCL and have PCOS. I am 5 weeks pregnant, early days but I have been trying with my partner for sometime so I have been tracking cycles and on 5mg Folic acid for awhile. I rang the diabetes clinic on Monday and they called back to answer the questions they could and said they would pass on the message to the antenatal team. It is now Thursday and I have heard nothing else from them, should I be... Read more

Is a treat just a treat or a dreaded paradox?

Hi everyone. I have been thinking a lot lately about the psychological tightrope we walk when it comes to "treating" ourselves. Recent discussions on our forum reignited these deep thoughts. We’ve all heard the advice (and maybe even told ourselves) that it is perfectly fine to have a treat now and then. We are human, after all, and rigid restriction rarely works long-term. But I want to share a perspective that completely shifted how I view these moments, and I am curious if it resonates... Read more

Libre2+ Missing Sensor Readings

Has anyone else found the Libre2+ sensors to be really really poor of late? Currently using the Libre 2+ with an Omnipod 5. The last 3 or 4 I've had have all had persistent and multiple 'Missing Sensor' errors each day - no Sensor reading for 1hr+, even though Sensor and pod are on same side of body and controller has been with me throughout. I know the logical thing is to replace with each issue of more than 1hr, but I'd be going through the sensors like nothing else if I did!

Blood Glucose Readings

Hello All I have recently been diagnosed Type 2 and been prescribed Metformin 1000mg. I am at a loss to understand the readings on my glucose monitor which shows a mmol/L number and my GP told me a HbA1c number. I have found this to be very confusing. Can anyone explain these numbers to this dumbo please? Regards Scottwd

Ypsopump - CamAPS FX and Libre 3 sensor

This is a bit of an awkward question, but thought I'd ask in case anyone familiar with the CamAPS FX app and the Libre 3 sensors can shed some light on this. First time insulin pump user here. Today, I officially started my Ypsopump training and have got my pump up and running. During the training session, the instructor told us to put on an unopened Libre 3 as part of the setup to have it activated with the CamAPS FX app. I was a bit apprehensive about doing this; this is the first time... Chia seeds

Chia seeds. Chia seeds offer nutritional value unmatched by other grains; they are rich in omega-3s and fiber, and very low in carbohydrates. I experimented by adding a generous amount of these seeds to a loaf of bread, and the effect was impressive (I know my own body, after all). The first thing I noticed when eating the chia-seed bread was a soothing sensation in my intestines; next, I felt my heart working wonderfully; and finally, I experienced remarkable mental clarity and agility. Does Codeine lower blood sugars

Yesterday my codeine dosage was increased from 120mg to 240mg for arthritic pain relief along side paracetamol , about 4 hours after taking 2nd dosage of 60mg I had a long lasting hypo which is fairly rare for me (type 1 on pump) a few hours later I had another one, had tea 50cho but did not bolus. The hypos continued through eve and night, my diabetes is normally very controlled, have reduced Basel 50% on pump and seem ok, is it the codeine as this is the only change that I have made since...
