Where to stay??

So for the last 4/5 visits we have always stayed a bit further out in Doral Woods. It is a good 30 minutes from the action and we are now considering renting a villa a bit closer. Previously we have stayed in Windsor Hills and Formosa Gardens but are wondering now where is good to stay. We are 2 adults, early 60's no kids, still usually book a 3/4/5 bed villa because we like the extra it brings such as a nice pool etc. Recommendations please.

need 2 bedroom suite

Early Nov trip, looking for a 2 bedroom suite. Would like HR, Portifino or RP (for express passes and location). HR's 2 bedroom suite, from what I can find, isn't really 2 bedrooms. The living area is open to the King bed area. Portifino looks to have a true 2 bedroom suite. RP seems to also. Is there anything like Disney's DVC? With kitchens? Any recommendations? We'll be 3 adults and a toddler, staying for 4 days.

Good Stuff

It was an awful weekend for many of us. I think we could use some good stuff. Anyone have good news or are you celebrating something? Post it here. I’m celebrating Dick Van Dyke’s 100th birthday. Also, my heart test was normal!

Boma - Salmon B——————?

Anyone know the exact name of this type of salmon at Boma? The sign said Salmon B-something. Like Babalma or but I do not think that is near correct. It had a heavy layer of green stuff on it sort of like a pesto.

Used Wands

My husband & I will be going to USA in Sept 2027. He has never been & I have not been in 15+ years! We would like to have fun with a 2nd gen wand, but are not enough of a fan to buy & keep one. Where is the best place to buy a used wand? We plan on using it for the trip & then gifting it to a family when we leave. Also - my husband would prefer something Ravenclaw, but I do not see an 2nd Gen ones for that house.

slo’s THURSDAY 9/17 poll - Olive Garden Restaurant

I was all set to do a certain topic and then I sat down with my coffee and the news anchors said that The Olive Garden is now the most popular restaurant with Chili’s coming in second. So I immediately said to myself - you gotta do a poll on Olive Garden, so we can thank ABC News for inspiring this poll today. I’m not surprised at all that Olive Garden is the most popular restaurant - the place is always crazy busy regardless where we are. I’ve always said - you can build an Olive Garden... Read more

soda and internet

Can someone please remind me if internet and soda drinks are included or if not, how do we purchase them?

Experience with financial planners/advisors?

Not sure if this is the right place for this question...does anyone here have a financial planner or advisor and willing to share their experiences? I've been reviewing my family's finances and finally admit I'm out of my depth...and probably have been for a couple years now, ha. I'm not sure what type of person/company to hire. I want to make sure I've allocated things in a tax-advantaged way and we also have several random accounts from various points in our lives and I want to... Read more

Currently on Dream TransAtlantic

The frosted white cups in Cabanas are flimsy but there’s no “Dirty Cup” shelf so I guess they figured that wasn’t working. The Drink Stations have what appear to be plain white paper cups - one for cold drinks and a different one for hot. Check in at Southampton went really smoothly although again, the local employees don’t have many answers. One of the woman at Security said they were only expecting 2200 check ins and 200 B2B guests. I heard one person in the elevator say 2800 and another... Read more

Halloween Time w/ Kids or skip?

So we are not big "scare" people and the kids are 7 and 9. I was thinking of a random trip to Universal right at Halloween (their first time our second time) and I started to think will there be limited park hours or will it be too scary essentially for younger kids? I know they do Horror Nights and such but didn't know how they translated? We would be there 4 nights and likely do the parks 3-4 days. I would also stay at one of the resorts that get Express Pass as well. I had looked at... Read more
