In a yawn-inducing announcement, Panasonic Lumix rolled out a 20mm f2.5 lens for its L-mount S-series full-frame cameras. Panasonic opened the price at $500. True, that is half the price of Sony's 20mm lens for its full-frame cameras, but the Sony lens has better specs than the new Panasonic lens (f1.8 vs. f2.5, for example). Anyway, I wanted to mention a new Panasonic Lumix product. You can read more about it here... Read more

I've purchased a lot of gear over the years but this is a first. I bought an open box camcorder on eBay from a reputable seller and the box it came it plus everything in it smelled like it was all doused in perfume or an industrial strength scent of some kind. I took everything out, opened it up, set it outside, even put it in a closed garbage bag with baking soda overnight, and the scent is just not going away. Any ideas?
Selling my Beaulieu 4008 ZM II Super 8 camera . It's in exceptionally clean cosmetic condition and includes the Schneider Optivaron 6–66mm f/1.8 zoom lens. The previous owner modified the original battery system to use an external 7.2V 2800mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack , which is included along with the RC charger. I've charged the battery and confirmed that it powers the camera and the motor runs. I have not run film through the camera or thoroughly tested all... Read more
Hi to all, So far, after about 15 years of being registrered, without any message, I think now its the time to open this thread. Last messages about the F65 here and there were from <2024. First of all, sincerely, let me say that this was my dream camera back in the early days of Cinemartin, I just had a FS100 or FS700 back in 2011-2012 I cannot rememebr, but for many years, I dreamed with, first the Cinealta F35 and then the F-65. Why I will make the purchase (in about 48 hours) (except... Read more
The happiness part is in the last quarter:
First off, I still have a sample film from a DVX user on my cloud; it is only 640x360, but the quality is superb. The source from the original thread is down. But you can download it from my OneDrive: https://1drv.ms/v/c/5e7f4b389c7a24a6/IQCmJHqcOEt_IIBeozoAAAAAAfjrTugs1zHB2LnbqJyv6qs?e=bOTbc1 You can stream it on my TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/video/7611250724361555222 And now I present to you the noob (me) with an HVX200 filming the first three songs of the concert of Tokio Hotel in 2006 in Zurich... The time came to finally release the film online. It's been a ride. This is a $0 budget project. It's shot guerilla style on the Lumix S5 with the Blazar Remus 45mm anamorphic lens. Minimal lighting is used. All interior shots in the library is the existing lighting in the library, and we used 1 COB with a soft box for some fill for a couple shots. Other than that we chose right before sunset as the time of day for when we shot outside. We really hope you enjoy it.
Thought I'd start a thread to share some amusing set stories. One of my favorites: On a network TV show, I was standing in for a guest star and a bit for one of the leads, and between shots, the 1AD and I started debating the then-new Man of Steel movie, and whether Superman would kill Zod. His position is that Superman doesn't kill. My position was that's Batman; Superman kills when necessary, always did, and he killed Zod in Superman II anyway. The argument resumed every time... Has anyone got experience tuning the figures on the C cameras to match production camera colour matrix? I know its based on WideDR, but trying to find the look is quite difficult. Has anyone successfully managed to do it? Im shooting on the original C300 and also the ME20FSH and would like both of them to match closely to the c200 Production Camera Matrix

If you have, what do you think of the company and how they operate? And if you have, could I ask you a quick question offline, like through a message here on dvxuser or via Signal or something? Just trying to get some perspective. Thanks! Jim
Here is my annual update to show you what retirement is like. Normally, the wife and I take social security ($60k) and $20,000 from our IRAs to live on (Total, $80K). What we did differently this year is that instead of taking money from the IRA, I took money from a savings account. So our 'income' was $20k less than usual at about $60k. Of that $60k of SS, only $17,000 has to be reported. So for an operating income of $80,000, we only reported an income of about $17k. Additionally, the... Read more
