TwinAir longevity?

There's a 2014 4x4 TwinAir with 70,000 miles on it advertised for sale near me, and I'm thinking about going to have a look at it. Apparently it's been serviced each year (not sure if that's at a main dealer), and has had a new clutch and DMF. I know these engines are quite fussy about regular servicing and the correct oil. However, how reliable are they in the long term? Will they happily run for two or three hundred thousand miles, or are expensive faults likely to be on the horizon... Read more

New Member Mimi :-)

Hello, everyone, My name is Mimi, and I live in France. I stumbled upon this forum by chance. I have a friend who’s going to bring me a Blue and Me module from his Fiat 500 that has the known issues. Since I know nothing about Fiats, I did some research and here I am. I hope to find the solution to my friend’s problem here. Thanks for reading.

P0638 DTC issue for the last 3 years.

Hi Everyone, I have a 2008 Fiat Ducato 3.0 JTD 6sp manual Motorhome. Over the last 3 years I have been plagued with Throttle Body and EGR issues that have provided nothing but headaches and often prompts the thought of driving the whole lot into Auckland Harbour. P0638 and P0401 DTC’s head the list of Fault Codes. My automotive background gave me enough confidence to attempt to fix the problem myself after paying repair shops for their services. The issue is loss of power on hills, poor... Read more

Counter-hold wrenches for the 169A4000 (1.2) engine?

Does anyone have any tips for locking the cam sprocket and/or the flywheel so that they can be removed and refitted at specified torque? I am under the impression you can't use the cambelt locking tools because you will end up breaking the camshaft or crankshaft. I have tried a Laser 2869 counter-hold wrench on the cam sprocket but it would just slip. The other style like BGS 8457 might work on the cam sprocket possibly but it's not big enough for the flywheel. Haynes manual says to... Read more

Bravo2 - resetting 1 front fog light?

2008 Bravo2 My right front fog/cornering lamp has stopped working in both fog and cornering modes, left front fog lamp is working normally. Everything else on this car works fine. The bulb, fuse and wiring have checked out ok. Is there some way of 'resetting' this lamp? And if so, is there some combination of ignition on and pressing various switches/pedals that might work? If diagnostic equipment has to be used, what type/brand would work?

Fiat 500L 2014 plate loud engine noise

Hi I recently had my clutch replaced and at the same time my battery failed- managed to get it up and running. so this caused a fuse to blow. So fixed but my engine sounds bad especially in 3rd gear. It’s like a lawn mower noise it just sounds loud and not right! Any ideas? just not sure if all related ?

radiator bypass hose

I am having trouble finding the radiator bypass hose (from just below radiator cap to (aftermarket) overflow reservoir. It's a molded hose with a specific bend in it. Anyone have any suggestions? It's for a 1973 850 Spider. The original one has a crack at the end more towards the radiator itself and is leaking quite a bit. Thanks!

2011 Active - which engine, and is it any good?

I'm interested in a 2011 Active I've seen advertised, but I'm not exactly sure which engine it has. It was first registered at the end of March 2011 and is listed as a 1.2L Euro 5 engine, but the spec says it's 60BHP. I think I've read that the Euro 5 engines are 69BHP. What's the VED on these (I'm not sure if it's going to be £35 or £170 / £200-ish)? I typed the registration into the government Low Emission Zone checker, and it said the car can be driven in Low Emission Zones... Read more

Does anyone know the panda 4x4 VE63XNU

Currently in Copart having been sold to 23/08/2026 cash for cars. Listed as a non runner. Thought it might be a useful set of spares if nothing else. Just wondering if anyone here knew it?

Newbie in search of a part

Help! I'm a bit red-faced to say that we got scammed buying our 1973 Fiat 850 Spider. That being said, and after spending a chunk of money just to be able to get her on the road, I am looking for a part that seems impossible. I'm from the US (no I didn't vote for him), in the Pacific NW. I've tried all the parts places my mechanic suggested. I am looking, specifically, for a molded hose that runs from just beneath the radiator cap to the aftermarket, plastic coolant overflow tank. Any... Read more

Original Camshaft Specs / Lift & Duration for Punto Mk2 1.2 16V (188A5000)?

Hey everyone, I am working on the top end of my Punto Mk2 1.2 16V Sporting (engine code 188A5000) and trying to track down the exact factory camshaft specifications. I’ve come across some mixed information online when comparing it to the older Mk1 (176) 85hp engine. From what I have gathered so far, the Mk2 stock specs look roughly like this: Intake Duration: 212° Exhaust Duration: 212° Valve Lift (Intake/Exhaust): ~7.5 mm Overlap: 0° Can anyone confirm if these numbers are accurate... 1.4 t-jet smoke after going downhill

I have a problem with my Bravo. Ever since I bought it almost a year ago, it had a smoke puff from the exhaust after going downhill off throttle and accelerating after. It was annoying but recently I did a decat downpipe and of course now it smokes substantially more. So much so it's embarassing. It absolutely does not smoke on idle or on boost. Now, the car has a new new vl36 turbo, did a smoke test for vacuum leaks, tried an oil catch can with and without separator, cleaned separator and... Read more
