Why don't more 'tradesmen' use Elgrands or other JDM vans?

Given the Elgrand (or similar JDM) is a great hauler, why don't 'builders' for example use them? In all of my travels I've seen one 'tradesman' using one. An E51 with all the sign writing etc. Looked cool actually. They use the Transit, Vivaro, Traffic, Transit, Transporter (a bit less as it's expensive) literally always, but no JDMs in general. Why is this? Now, whilst no one really wants a JDM or Elgrand associated with parking in front of peoples drives, chucking stuff out of vans in... Read more

Premium member

Hi, Silly me opened an account with the same email as my PayPal, but couldn't remember my user name or password, so I opened a new account with my secondary email which is different to my PayPal. I've just bought premium member but the PayPal email is my 1st account, which I don't use. I have tried resetting my password for the account I don't use as I wish to close it. Can admin please sort this? I need the premium membership adding to this account. Thanks.

Tailgate Bike Rack Disaster

I fitted the Thule 973 rack with the '18' fitting kit back in 2017 - for those not familiar with this (now unavailable) rack, it attaches to the top of the tailgate by two hooks on metal straps. Most of the weight of the rack/load goes down through the bottom fixing points, also hooks under the bottom lip of the tailgate although some of the load bears down on the rear spoiler through the supplied support arm pads (lots of info on this rack HERE ). I leave the rack... Read more

amayama orders

trying to order lower joint assembly( lower steering ) 48080 WL000 and it states "Your order contains item(s) that need to be checked before the payment." had the same thing when I tried to order a camshaft sensor last year it stated "you order can't be shipped Apologies for any inconvenience. "(after waiting 3 days) ! Is this normally the procedure or I'm I doing something wrong (paypal maybe ) Is it better to order Japan or UAE .

Door cables

So, the last time I did the dreaded cables, I played a bit, one side I made the solder nipple, which was quite a lot of work. The other side I tried screw on, one side is slotted to fit a screwdriver, the screw has a nut head( photo) but it was really easy to do. Striped coating, scraped, ruff it up ( just the same way as the other side to this point), dipped in flux ( has to be the kind in the photo) coated the cable in soldier, drilled a slightly larger hole one side of the screw nipple... 1st class lpg conversion.

Hi guys, just wanna give a shout out for simon andrew of lpg conversions. Travelled up to doncaster a few weeks ago from west mids for an lpg conversion on the Elgrand after only owning it for 2 weeks. It was a 1st class job with a factory finish and a lot easier on the pocket driving around at 70pence a litre with no loss of performance that i can see.

"Tractor" diary. Elgrand from Siberia. E50.

Hello friends!) I'm one of Russia here. I live in Siberia, near the beautiful Lake Baikal. I have Elgrand E50 for 5 years. But I think I’m with him all my life). Before Elgrand, there were enough cars and Nissan Patrol (Y60 / 61) and Isuzu Bighorn, there was a Russian military SUV UAZ Hunter. I mixed enough mud in our taiga. But then there was a family, children and I had to realize my old dream - an all-wheel drive minibus. I chose for a long time and looked at Delika and Alphard and so on... Read more

Replacing the Elgrand, slightly smaller ideally, for mtb/camper conversion

I've had my S2 E51 for 9 years now, thinking about replacement but it's a difficult act to follow! We have a rear conversion, sleeping two with insulation pads behind the curtains, often with a load of sports kit including bike. Often now it's just me to accomodate, plus a mountainbike or two. With one mid-seat removed that works just about ok but the rear kitchen limits things a bit. Also removing the seat leaves the runners in place which are a bit of a pain, flat floor would be better... Read more

LIST OF ACTIONS REGARDING E51/E52 CATALYTIC CONVERTER ISSUES

Having 're read this entire thread ( https://forum.elgrandoc.uk/threads/...and-the-do-not-remove-rear-cats-debate.18398/ ) again this morning here are my conclusions and the options available of which there are at least half a dozen. Rough costs are an estimate on people's postings throughout the forum. So please dont abuse me if some are slightly inaccurate!!! No agenda as I don't even own an e51 so completely impartial take on the matter. Option 1... Read more
