Yes its the small things that cause the big problems. Such as a small split pin is used a second time in breaks sometime after being fitted , not niticed as its a bit innaccessible, the nut its locking loosens with vibration , a large part falls off and everything end in tears. If not a split pin in todays world but a nyloc nut. The number of times I have seen mechanics re-use them. I even had a heated discussion with my Degree qualified Engineering Manager about the dangerous practice of re-using nyloc nuts, especially on suspension in converted vans for carrying wheelchair passengers,I even had a supplier identify the nut and supply a box of them and the Engineering manager sent the nuts back. The difference in cost 4 nuts would make when bought in bulk to a van they are charging the customer several thousands I don't know. Yet if the nuts loosened the suspension collapsed , there was an accident and somebody died, what cost then and what about the ensuing enquiry, what would that do to the companies reputation and subsequent longevity in business.

Hello everyone! I am currently working on a project that has been something I’ve dreamed about for quite some time. The ford expedition fully digital cluster has a unique feature that displays the tach rpm inside the tach gauge itself. The F-150, 250 and 350 do not. The hardware is the exact same. So my plan is to see if I can work on the firmware from the expedition to see if I can enable it at the software level. Ironically I found some id’s already on the F-150 software VBF files, and when I dumped them it seems as though they did indeed have it as an option, just like the raptor has the option for the gear display. The doner vin is 1FMJU1K83REA27786 If your able to source these or need more info let me know that would be an amazing help!
According to the owner guide there is no cruise control light. https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford ... coog3e.pdf I should have thought of that too although I did look up in my copy of the Ford 2005 service manual and it does not have much information about the cluster except what it monitors and controls and how to remove it! It is very possible that the E series did not have a Cruise Monitor light and it sure looks like from the Owners guide and from the wiring diagram in the Service manual that there is no wiring connection from the Cruise switch or the PCM involving the "Speed Control to the IPC at all so it appears that it is true! Sorry for the long winded post that basically led nowhere!
According to the owner guide there is no cruise control light. https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford ... coog3e.pdf Thanks for looking that up. I didn't realize I could still get that manual. I'll download it for future reference. Have a good one...
Search Autotrader for any 2005 Econoline with CC. Use the vin to get the as built data from the Motorcraft site. That is an awesome idea. Thanks for the tip. I'll let you know if I can pull it off. I found an E-250 on Autotrader, same year with Cruise Control and it has the same ICM codes as mine. Oh well it was a great idea. Thanks again.
First open the IPC self test if the E series has one listed and run the test and see if the light check(Also runs at Ignition On just before startup) actually shows the little Cruise Clock somewhere on the Cluster! ... If this is the case then To See if there is a Indicator shine a strong Flash light on the front and see if you can see where the little Clock symbol is! ... Do not know if this is much help! Yes it is helpful. I just went out with a flashlight and searched for the indicator, but no luck. I'll try the IPC test tomorrow to see if it lights up somewhere I didn't look. Thanks.

After reading dozens of posts here on the forum, I successfully used FORScan to enable the cruise control on my 2005 E-250. Of course I had already replaced the steering wheel and clockspring cable. Road test was good. But, there is no indication on the dash that the cruise control is in use. Is there some additional programming I can do to get the dash indicator to work? Maybe the ICM? I loaded the as-built ICM data, but of course it didn't come with cruise control. If it is the ICM that needs changing, I was hoping that someone might have the ICM 720-01-01 codes for this vehicle with the cruise control indicator working. Thanks for any help you can provide. I do not know if this is the same in the E series but in the 2005 F150 the Cruise Indicator light in the IPC is a conventional push in type indicator light bulb(74) to the right of the RH turn signal indicator with the quarter turn socket! First open the IPC self test if the E series has one listed and run the test and see if the light check(Also runs at Ignition On just before startup) actually shows the little Cruise Clock somewhere on the Cluster! If it does not then it is possible then the IPC is different for a van with out cruise enabled(I find this unlikely since the function is able to be coded in the PCM I assume through the VID Block and firmware update) or the bulb(74) and/or socket have been left out of the PCB in the IPC(More than likely)! If this is the case then To See if there is a Indicator shine a stron

Good evening, A few weeks ago, I managed to get hold of a digital instrument cluster. Unfortunately, it was the NX7T-10849-SCC version. I was initially worried that this cluster would cause the well-known handbrake issue in my 2019 Focus, but luckily that does not seem to be the case. The installation itself went quite smoothly. I loaded the AS-Built data from my original analogue cluster and everything worked straight away. I adjusted the mileage after putting the car into deep sleep and confirming that there was no handbrake warning/icon. However, I have noticed one issue: the digital IPC seems quite slow/laggy during startup. The boot animation stutters badly and is so slow that I barely get to see it before the car is started. Once I'm actually driving, everything works perfectly and the cluster feels responsive. Has anyone experienced this before? Could this potentially be related to incorrect AS-Built data? I have checked the car for DTCs, but there are no faults showing. Looking at the AS-Built configuration in FORScan, the digital IPC also seems to have fewer settings available than the analogue cluster. This made me wonder whether I may have copied settings from my analogue IPC that don't necessarily match the configuration of the digital IPC. Here's a bit of a wild theory: what if the donor car was a mild hybrid and some of the settings related to the hybrid system aren't present in an analogue IPC configuration? Could some of those settings potentially remain in th
