Hello I have a LC100 Sahara 2004 which when you are driving through corners the VSC TRAC works at to low a speed. On a Hyundai Terracan I own as well, I go through the same corner faster, and have no issue with traction. Happens into left hand bends more than right hand bends. On the wrong surface this slow down would cause problems. This is an Australian model. I would like to be able to disable it, or have people had similar problem and what was the problem. Was it slack in the rack... Read more

Now that my GX is lifted and on 285/70/17s, naturally the spare needs a new home. I'm trying to pin down every possible option for carrying a spare tire that isn't a) in the OEM location (since my 285/70/17 doesn't fit), b) on the roof, or c) in the GX460's cargo area. I would also like to retain the rear window's ability to open, as well as the rear door's ability to swing open. After hours of research, the options I'm finding are: Already built full replacement bumper -- $$$$... Read more
2001 HZJ79 diesel, 35,000 kms. Truck is occasionally running rough, sputtering and giving off some blue smoke. This is more likely to happen when starting out for the day. I have cleaned the fuel tank, changed the filter, bled the air out of the system and run some injector cleaner through it. Better but still happens occasionally. I went to a diesel shop today to inquire about getting the injectors cleaned / rebuilt and that was a hard pass on their part. I've looked at some after... Read more
Does anyone have a new or used 45612-60070, RHD steering arm that I could buy? Wheeled Soldiers Pass and learned a lot about my steering needs. The steering/rear tie rod that goes over the radius arms was rubbing terribly. Time to move it to in front of the axle.
*This is somewhat for personal record-keeping and a little bit of sharing. I'll go back and refine some of the stuff I listed with actual model numbers and some pics here and there. Picked up an Black 2002 LX470 in May 2023 w/ 235k on the odo, bone stock (aside from a AHC-delete), from a single owner that passed the vehicle down to his son/daughter in Newport Beach, CA. Here's how it looked upon day of purchase: As it sits now (March '25): ... Read more
I just bought a high-mileage FJ70 that came with a carbureted 1FZ-F engine in it of unknown mileage. I drove about 50miles and the headgasket went kaput. The truck was sold as-in, for running-vehicle price. I am most disappointed, of course :/ Its my second LC, the first being a LHD 5spd triple-locked 80 with a turbo 1HD-T in it that I did a considerable amount of work on before selling to a collector. This is a SWB soft-top 70 with coils in the front that I'd like to explore with and... Read more
New build starting, the customer actually requested I do a build thread! It already has a 1HDT swapped in it, performed by the current owner. @joekatana imported it originally. It’s a 1991 Euro PZJ75, so it had a 1PZ and R151 originally, it is 24v, has elockers, now has a H55 & split case behind the 1HDT. After import it was engine swapped with a 1HZ which got pulled and swapped to the 1HDT. So it has had three engines but I would say this 1HDT is the last engine for it, at least... Read more

Chevy rear springs and an anti-wrap bar. 35" KM3's. 3.4 swap, R151F trans with gear set from a R150. Dual 23 spline cases, Advance Adapter TX2, 4.7's in rear case, Davez Triple Shifter. TG power steering pump and hydraulic... Read more
Thursday the 21st there was a fire of unknown origin at my warehouse. My shop is ok (3miles away), but my warehouse was heavily damaged. I lost a little bit of merchandise to fire damage, a bit more to water damage. Fortunately the fire was limited to the smallest of the three rooms I occupied at the warehouse. As fate would have it, I went to the warehouse for a routine visit, and arrived just after the fire was suppressed, in total shock mode. Before I could reach the firemen to find out... Read more
Hey IH8MUD! Wanted to share a fix I recently completed on my 200 Series Land Cruiser for a faulty EVAP canister. I’d been dealing with really bad gas smells on my 200 ever since purchasing it about 2 years ago. Up until recently, there were no check engine lights associated with it, but I had read through all the threads outlining challenges other 200 owners faced with this same issue. Once the codes finally popped, I knew it was time to address it. The codes associated with my problem... Read more
Long time listener, essentially first time caller. On the hunt for a +16 200. This one is a NE LX, and my gut tells me to pass but want to confirm with the brain trust.
I was told some time ago that due to the O² sensor system that completely removing the catalytic converter would cause the vehicle to throw codes due to a discrepancy in O² readings. I have a 1994 who's exhaust splits into two pipes to run through a dual pipe catalytic converter and back into one pipe after it. I was told that there is a sensor before the cat and after the cat that made sure the exhaust was cleaner coming out but my sensors are both placed before the cat. What will happen if... Read more
