Antiquity Texas Hot For Strat Bridge

Anyone use a Seymour Duncan Antiquity Texas Hot pickup in the bridge of your Strat with SSL-1s in neck and middle? If so, what were your impressions? Please note I am not interested in any other pickups or combination of pickups. I tried an SSL-5 in the bridge and did not like it. The Antiquity looks like a good middle ground between an SSL-1 and SSL-5. Thanks. Antiquity™ Stratocaster Pickup | Seymour Duncan The Antiquity Texas Hot for Strat Set will give you the authentic single coil chime, sparkle, and feel that only vintage Stratocaster pickups can deliver. www.seymourduncan.com

should be simple 2 HB 3 position, but neck fine bridge barely audible

Greetings, I'm trying to wire a simple tele 2 HB - a two wire braided (Seth Lover) neck and JB in the bridge on a tele with a 3 position switch. When I plug it in, the neck pickup is fine, and the tone control works, but the JB bridge is barely audible and thin. Are you able to tell enough from this photo? I have been over the attached diagram so many times, and I can't see what's wrong. Thanks

Pickups phase

Hi. I’d like to reverse the phase of both pickups so that when the coils are split, the screw coil is active. Does reversing the phase change the way the pickup sounds or responds in any way?

Pickups for my 95 LP Standard Ala Gary Moore 80s

Ive have an LP Standard with Alnico II Pro's in it. The Bridge is the trembucker version to fit my 95 spacing. Ive enjoyed them but recently got a new amp. A Marshall Silver Jubilee 20watt head into my JCM900 1960B cabinet. I am learning the amp and like it so far. As for GM, I know he used the JMP and SLP Marshalls plus Charvels with EMGs so I wont get dead on tones but I also like Bonamassa and thought Id get both tones using my Strat (Antiquities Texas Hots) on this Jubilee. Anyway, The... Read more

Need Help with ABY Pedal

With my new band, a trio, I am going to leverage a multi-amplifier rig. I want to use me pedalboard with both amplifiers but use an ABY box to switch between them. Here is a photo of my pedalboard. The guitar plugs into the Route 66. The Soul Food plugs into my amp. How do I need to cable everything?

NGD: G&L tribute ASAT Deluxe w/ SD Hot Rodded HB set

Just arrived home, I can't wait to show it to you: The seller sent it in pristine conditions with a JB/Jazz set mounted, in a hardcase and with the original pickup with the plastic protection stickers still on, I'm more than happy

Does Cap Type Actually Matter? Let's Settle it with frequency response data, not ear bias.Ceramic vs Mylar vs Orange Drop vs PIO

Hey Everyone, We’ve all seen the endless arguments on guitar forums and subreddits about whether a $50 boutique Paper-in-Oil (PIO) capacitor actually sounds or behaves differently than a 50-cent ceramic disc if they share the exact same microfarad value. So I did a fully rigorous, academic-style test. I wired up four common types with identical values: Ceramic Disc Mylar Orange Drop Paper-in-Oil... Read more

Pictures of disassembled Bill Lawrence L-500?

Hi, does anyone have a picture of a Bill Lawrence L-500 that's been disassembled where the magnets are shown? I'm looking for it as I stumbled across some threads / posts from 2010 and 2011 where the pictures don't load anymore but from the replies it seems to have showed the insides of it. I'm not sure how much help it would be but here's the thread links I mentioned above: https://forum.seymourduncan.com/threads/anyone-ever-change-magnets-in-a-l500-or-a-dimebucker.198087/ ... warm, middy humbuckers for a semi-hollow

Hello, It’s been ages since I’ve looked into aftermarket pickups! I have a '15 Ibanez AS-73 semi-hollow, which is 24.75" scale with a maple laminate body, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The pickups are "Classic Elites," which the Ibanez wiki tells me have ceramic magnets with 9.5K/11.0K DC resistance on the neck and bridge, respectively. They have wayyy too much bass for my taste. I think they might be a little too hot for me, too, but it’s hard to tell because the bass bloats up... Read more

Ceruse Pine Telecaster Body

I got this Pine Tele body dirt cheap. I wanted an aged barn-wood look, but nothing would stick to it. So, I used a wire brush to give it a weathered Ceruse look. Then I used a coat of dark grey oil-based gel stain, which stained the soft wood black while leaving the harder grain yellow. I didn't like the contrast, so I tried the light grey oil stain I tried first, and it covered everything pretty well while still preserving the grain. I sealed it with Polyurethane tinted with opalescent... Read more

need help with some wiring

Hi, all. I swapped out the original pickups on a P/J Squier bass with SD Quarter Pounders. I followed the standard wiring diagram as best I could until I encountered these 2 things: There are multiple ground wires coming from 3 diff areas of the bass The output jack is 3 wires plus a ground wire (yellow, red and white) I read on another forum that the yellow goes to the neck pup, white to the bridge pup and red to the tone pot. I wired it up and got nothing... Read more
