Jorgan: Yeah I generally added 2x tablets into a 750ml bottle. I’m a 1.5x in 750ml man myself, or 2x in a 950ml bottle on hotter days

They use magnesium carbonate, calcium carbonate in the tabs so they fizz and dissolve, they don’t in the powder as far as I know/remember. Per litre
Call me a cynic but I think most of those elements are just coming along for the ride.
Doka: I looked it up: H5 tab is 250mg sodium, 3 scoops of Tailwind (75g) is 900mg sodium. And 56mg Magnesium, 70mg potassium, 9mg calcium
Yeah I generally added 2x tablets into a 750ml bottle.
When I looked into it I was quite surprised how much salt is in there, I would guess it’s much more than a High 5 tablet. I know you mock Tailwind but for me it made a big difference to my racing & I did wonder if the salt level was a significant factor. I looked it up: H5 tab is 250mg sodium, 3 scoops of Tailwind (75g) is 900mg sodium.
Needless to say, I never encountered this on the Continent. They know how to drink responsibly.
Yes, latterly I bought Dextrose powder from MP, and added a flavoured H5 tablet to the solution, plus a bit of sea salt. I remember the white residue it used to leave on everything!
Apparently during a ‘Grand Slam’ (as it was once referred to me)
yer on faceache similar to you, moans about rowdiness and the drunkenness, people blocking the road on the big climbs as they were drunk and not respecting the space. The run course with people wandering about out of control, it was said to be terrible by that stage. The was one incident of a guy coming down the hill on his bike near transition, and losing it in the wet trying to take a drink. Some guy had his about 3 year old kid uncontrolled next to him slightly in the road and the bike and athlete slid near the girl, didn’t hit her. He started kicking the guy as he lay hurt on the floor and had to be moved away. They are blaming out of towners who descend for an excuse to spend all day drinking, and how year on year its getting worse..
Ooh where was that? I found the crowd too rowdy this year. Almost football lout levels of behaviour…
Two great race reports from what sounds like a rather soggy Tenby. Well done to you both.
