Loft style insulation in caravan

Because of all the posts and reviews, about sunroof cracks on Swifts, I thought I would check my caravan, which is a Swift exclusive challenger 560 2024 model. It was bought from new, we are the only owners. On looking closely at the sunroof I noticed what appears to be loft insulation wedged into a cavity at the bottom of the sunroof. Is this stuff not hazardous to health and prone to retaining moisture and breaking up. If it gets wet, would it lead to dampness in the caravan.

Can’t make it up….

On Friday I was due to trade my caravan in for a brand new van. At lunchtime I went to the storage (5 mins away) to bring the old van home to empty it ready for Friday. Less than 200m from the storage some blind idiot who cannot see a big white box being towed by a big red SUV pulled out of a car park and drove straight into the side of my van…. The dealer will not now take the van in part ex (understandably) and wants to cancel the sale. This is on top of dealing with my sisters death 2 weeks ago and me still sorting out all the implications of that. You can’t make it up.

The annual insurance trawl.

Its that time of the year when both cars require insurance to be renewed. For a many years I was with LV (Formerly Frizzels) for cars, home, travel. Whist they weren't the cheapest they came high in Which surveys. But their pricing became uncompetitive for all our policies, so last year I moved to AXA and my wife went to SAGA. I have had a renewal quote from AXA for their top policy of £564 some £60 less than last year. Seeing what the market was offering I tried Tesco who last year would not offer a quote, but this year quoted £868 with a 10% discount as I am a Tesco mobile and Clubcard customer. Dear old LV have now come back and told me they don't insure my type of car!!! What can be more boring than your bog standard RAV4 hybrid? the takeover by Allianz doesn't seem to be producing the goods as far as LV are concerned.

Off grid Wales in October

Hi, we have a coachman vip 520 2019 with a 100w solar panel and new 100ah lead acid battery. Are we likely to be ok for 3-4 days off grid near Barmouth in October. We have 2 gas bottles and will use that for heating cooking and fridge. We have an Avtec TV and will just be using lights, water pump and phone charging. Our old van had 180W and coped well. Is it worth experimenting with it set up like this on the drive?

Highgrove recommendation.

Today we visited Highgrove, (the Kings house in Tetbury). Yes it is expensive but an excellent visit. There are a number of visits that can be booked. Ours was a 90 minute guided garden tour followed by a two course meal with wine and coffee. We went with friends, partly because he wanted to show off the visitor centre as he was the building construction manager back in the late 90’s. A really enjoyable day in great weather. The gardens are fantastic, and to have the background of each part so well explained was very informative and the meal outstanding. I also had the benefit of how the problems complex building were overcome. If you are in the area, you may wish to consider. Just a couple of pics. Cameras only allowed around the visitor centre.

Wi fi

Removing the Decorative Fascia Bailey Cabrera Black Edition

I have a 2021 Bailey Unicorn Cabrera - Black Edition. The window blind in the kitchen area has become detached from it's fixings on one Side. However to get to the window blind I need to remove the decorative "Black Edition" fascia. Rather than dismantling half of the caravan, unnecessarily, to do this. I wonder if anyone out there has tackled this job and can give me any advice. I am quite happy to pay for a fitter to do this if it is felt to be job best left to a professional, but not if it's just locating and unscrewing a few fixings. N.B. the manufacturers warranty does not apply as I am the 3rd owner and the 2nd owner did not transfer.

Thetford C262 Flush Pump not Working

I have a Thetford C262 fitted in my 2021 Bailey Unicorn Cabrera Black Edition The flush pump has stopped working. I've repaired and replaced these before in my previous Bailey, but cannot find an guidance on line to show me how to locate and access the pump. Not sure if it's by way of the activation switch fascia or in the cassette chamber. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
