Microsoft Azure
Backup For Azure In Government Cloud

Hi Jonathan, Can youy clarify which product they are using by Veeam? Are we talking about Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure or Veeam Backup & Replication?

VBR and HPE VM Replication Alternative

We are currently evaluating the HPE VME Hypervisor as a potential replacement for vSphere 8.x. During our assessment, we've found that one of the key features we rely on in Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR) 13.x, VM replication is not currently available for this hypervisor. This limitation appears to affect several alternative hypervisors as well. I'm interested in hearing how other organizations are addressing this gap. While I recognize that HPE Zerto is a viable solution for replication and disaster recovery, its cost can be difficult to justify for small and medium-sized businesses. In researching alternatives, I've come across recommendations to use Backup Copy Jobs as a substitute for traditional VM replication. Our environment consists of two physical hosts: one production host and one dedicated DR host, both located on the same LAN. Each server utilizes its own direct-attached storage, with no shared storage infrastructure. For those running similar environments, have you found an effective workaround for the lack of native replication support? Specifically: Are Backup Copy Jobs providing acceptable recovery objectives in a DR scenario? What recovery times are you seeing compared to true VM replication? Have you implemented any other Veeam-based or hypervisor-native solutions that have worked well? Any insights, lessons learned, or best practices would be greatly appreciated.

XCP-ng largeblock local storage?

@kurt it's not explicitly mentioned as supported SR type here - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/u ... tml?ver=13 but will discuss internally.

Veeam ONE
Upgrade failure 13.0.2.7159 -> 13.1 -> vCenter shows excluded

Hello, Nothing reported currently, so we will appreciate that support ticket with logs. As a quick thought, maybe the VONE lost the license in the process and the vCenter was excluded somehow. Please if you can give it another try we will appreciate it. Thank you! Jorge, there is a problem your dev team needs to be aware of. It was my exclusions that were causing the entire vCenter stack to go into un-monitored state. I had to disable the rule(s) from both my VeeamOne instances for the monitoring to start working. Settings -> Server Settings -> Monitored VMs -> Excluded VMs Apply rule to : Virtual Infrastructure VM Selection : By Object Name I had a number of VMs we wanted to exclude (old dev VMs, and SRM replicas) Type : Any condition is true Object name equals (VM name) If this rule is enabled during the upgrade you get no monitored VMware after the 13.1 upgrade If I disable this rule before the upgrade I get monitoring If I turn it back on, I lose monitoring So how do we exclude VMs now because these SRM replicas are going to eat my license count?

Microsoft Azure
[RUN COMMANDS] - DOUBTS

Hi Carlos, For the VSS processing, it's noted under the Guest Scripting section. The rest is currently not added to the documentation but we'll see how to enhance it.

Veeam Backup & Replication
[V13] Appliance Software Updates Summary Emails

Hi All We are aware of the requests to have more control over Veeam Updater notification emails, but I don't have an ETA today. @unlighted8790 I moved your topic with the existing discussion. Best, Fabian

Veeam ONE
Veeam One v13.1.0.7034

Hello Paul, I can see there's some internal research on this case, and I'm pretty sure someone will respond in the case or it will be escalated. Also, feel free to escalate the ticket. There should be talk to manager button within support portal, if you are not satisfied with the quality or time of response. Thanks.

Veeam Backup & Replication
Syslog options only visible in Web GUI

Hi Stefan, Thanks for sharing. Yes, you can expect more new features to become available only in the Veeam Backup & Replication Web UI. Our goal is to make the Veeam Backup & Replication Web UI the single place to manage your entire backup server. Best, Fabian
