Like many my Goldens have succumbed to one form of cancer or another. Years. ago Goldens from my research lived much longer now they live to ten and 60-70-% will get cancer. European Goldens have a longer life span and 33% will get cancer. I would think with today's tech the golden genome could be sequenced and sites of cancer genes identified. Breeders should have their breeding dogs tested and these bad genes could be weeded out of the population. I am I being to simplistic. Is it even... Cancer in US Goldens

Hello everyone! I need advice again….I had such great feedback from my last question about Abby here and I really appreciate it. We have fed Abby, who is 9 months old, Blue Buffalo puppy food, lamb and oatmeal formula. Two nights ago she vomited a large amount of food, and it looked totally undigested. Yesterday and today she doesn’t want her food at all…she ate a couple kibbles and turned away from it. She’s been eating rice, and tonight I added a little ground beef to the rice. She ate... My Lewsie gets dred locks in wadded balls from the fine hair under her ears. I try to cut it out but she is not very cooperative with that. She nearly freaked out when I got out an electric razor. Is there anything else that helps to remove these or even prevent them from happening?

Hi all! I was curious when looking at these two puppies (females) if there’s any real differences between the head shapes/ what they may look like in the future! These puppies are considered field lines. Dad has his MH. Dam is also working towards hers with a few titles under her belt. I know they are not “show” I just find it interesting how they do look different from the same litter. Thanks!

I post a word, and then someone else posts the first word that comes to mind, and the next person posts the first word that one suggests to them, and so on! Always building off the last word. Easy First word: fire
Good Afternoon Everyone, So our golden Cedar is almost 3.5 years old and is currently going through her 5th heat so my wife and I are debating about getting her spayed. My wife is for it and says we should have done it last year after hunting season and skipped the last 3 heats. This is her first golden but she’s had dogs her whole life and all of her other dogs have been neutered or spayed before 3. Cedar is my first dog, I have read the articles from UC Davis recommending to not spay... To Spay or Not to Spay, That is the Question?

Hello, I have never had a golden retriever . I know their plusses and minuses I believe from years of research. I am older and have only had poodles, but I want a dog that is not as high strung.
Hey Everyone, It’s been a bit since I posted on here and I really wish I was giving a happy 2 year puppy update. Tucker has been the sweetest puppy since we brought him home. He’s the best with our 4 kids. He loves to run around out back and play. I groom him every weekend. He’s great with people/dogs. Haven’t had any issues. He spends some time in an ex pen during the day when we can’t play with him and at night he’s still in a crate. He loves his ex pen. Hes the calmest dog in there... Bit by my Golden.
