My GT86 gear change feels noticeably more notchy during the first few minutes of driving, especially going into second. Once everything warms up it feels much smoother. Has anyone else experienced this or is this just normal when the gearbox is cold?

I’m from Torbay in Devon, I’ve owned my gt86 for nearly 2 years now, I’m interested in car meets and looking into some modification ideas
I am getting a minor clunk or knock from the front end only at very low speeds (below 15 mph) The dealership had a look and could not reproduce the issue. I think this may be because it only seems to occur when the car is up to temperature. They did a check of the suspension and found no issues so I am not too concerned. It may have been there since I got the car and I am only hearing it now because I just got new hearing aids. The noise doesn't bother me (sports cars with tight suspension... Clunking noise over uneven pavement only at very low speeds.
Ive recently had some suspension work carried out on the car which has resulted in the alignment needing to be re-done. Im aiming to go somewhere with a good reputation that has a hunter alignment system. I have camber bolts fitted so can achieve additional negative camber. On my previous alignment i had close to -2 degrees of negative camber up front and zero toe however i found the steering to feel ‘less lively’ afterwards. So am curious if a small amount of toe in/toe out or dialling... Ideal geometry settings for steering feedback.
I’m checking the crankshaft and main bearing area, mainly for wear, play and any signs of damage before putting everything back together.
Hi, I'm considering a GT86 as my only car and would appreciate some advice. Plan is an auto, 2018 onwards so from a dealer with at least some form of warranty. A couple of questions: 1 - Are there any particular points to look out for on GT86's and autos specifically. 2 - How easy is it to find parts? I keep my cars a long time so consider the availability and cost of parts long term. Checking the likes of EuroCarParts they don't hold a lot of GT86 parts. Would I need to go back to... Considering a GT86 - after advice
I've been thinking about putting some wheel spacers on my 86 for a while. Ideally I'd love to get a set of aftermarket wheels, but unfortunately the pockets are a bit dry at the moment 😂 so spacers seem like a decent way of improving the stance in the meantime. I don't really know anyone personally running spacers on the stock wheels, so I was wondering what setups people on here are running. I'm particularly interested in the Japspeed spacers – are they any good? Anyone running... People with wheel spacers on stock wheels, need you help!
Hi BRZers, I am new to the forum and I saw on the GR86 forum a discussion about the BRZ ts Hitachi suspension system. I wanted to collect some more info. I have a BRZ ts 2026, and it's is much nicer as a system on the road than my previous BRZ 2019 with Sacks dampers (performance package with Brembo brakes). here is what I like and maybe less like about them: 1) They smooth the roads of North Carolina so well. It flesh as if the NCdot had resurfaced all roads. The Sacks dampers on my old... BRZ ts 2026 suspensions
Early on I gave away my OEM Michelin tires on my 2022 BRZ and fitted the all season version. Better suited for the climate conditions here and so much quieter ride. However, I found my self doing tire rotation front/rear at more frequent intervals than the book recommends to restore traction to the rear tires. As the tires age, I have to shorten the interval to improve traction. There is no perceptible steering degradation or instability in corners, however from a stop or significant added... Diminishing Tire Traction
i’m actually not totally sure what year my car is… got it secondhand in a rush and it supposedly had 300hp and all the bells and whistles so it’s vintage was of least importance to me. I share it with my wife and in japan there are separate licenses for AT and MT. i was not aware of that before i married her so i am stuck with the flappy paddles
Noticed a faint creak from the clutch fork area when easing the pedal out. It’s more noticeable once the car is warm and seems to disappear when the pedal is fully released.
Hey guys, I love the design language of the TRD kit for the facelift 86, but I don't like the way it has that stuck-on look with the edges. What I was considering was to buy a non-genuine trd kit (so that i dont waste money ruining a genuine one) and fit it, but then bodywork the parts fully onto the panels and smooth all of the bodylines so that it looks completely smooth. Does anyone know someone who has done this or something similar before? I think it would look so much better. There... Facelift GT86 TRD Bodykit Moulded On
