Picked this up on Friday and appears to be an unfired Ruger “Old” Blackhawk chambered in 30 carbine. Date of manufacture was 1972. What confuses me is, as the photo shows, the box is marked 7 1/2” barrel but the pistol has a 4 3/4” barrel. I can only find 1 reference to an old GunBroker listing which has this caliber/bbl length and it’s an old one with a dead link. It appears that these were never produced with the short barrel. So what is it? Could you order these with a non-standard... Ruger Blackhawk in 30 Carbine. Unicorn? ***Range Update***

My Uncle Cap was in the 12th Armored Division during WW2. His son, my cousin, Mike was a door gunner in Vietnam. Cap died in '94 leaving his things to Mike and his brother Butch. Mike died of covid in October 2020. Now Butch has been referred for lung cancer. Neither Butch nor Mike have any kids and there is no one to pass their legacy on to. I was in the Army and I collect WW2 militaria so Butch gave me all of Mike and Cap's things. Here we are in 2022 and I have just inherited this... Took a chance at a small auction and ended up very pleased. I knew that I was bidding on a low 8000 serial number range 2nd variation Tokyo arsenal contract, per Derby & Brown, but that was about all. Serial number is 8062 and the side is marked with the Tokyo arsenal cannon balls and the top with the TGE stamp. Upon arrival I found that it was matching as follows: Grips 62, Recoil spring guide 62, Bolt G8062, Ejector 62, Barrel extension G8062, Locking Block G8062, Cocking knob 8062... Papa nambu acquisition

First I’ve seen of these PAMAS G1S being imported to the US, there’s some listed on GB presently. I’ll be getting one to go with my 1950. This video shows the new imports:

I picked these up along with a pile of Enfield parts and wanted to make sure there wasn't anything special here since they're all slightly different. I compared the cutoffs with the photo in Skennertons book but the two in the center don't match up. I believe the one on the far right is for a CLLE and the one on the far left is for the SmLE but not sure about the two in the middle. None have any markings that I can see.

Just watched a long video on the USMC in Afghanistan in 2010 titled: "Inside Afghanistan: Rare Uncensored Footage From The Battle For Marjah". At 59:40 the Marines find a dead Taliban, and behind him leaning against the wall is a P14. The Marines had been having problems with a sniper, not clear to me if this was the sniper or not. Marines talking about the P14 think it is an 8mm Mauser. John
