I have been trying to find a way to get ‘ Great! Player ’ app working on TV. The Samsung TV does not give it as an option to add. On PVR is shows as an entry for Chn 63 When you select it advises to ‘Watch Great! player now on Freeview Play connected devices’ The PVR is Freeview recorder /player/ with full tuner. Is there a way to use as a ‘Freeview Play’ connected device.? … don’t know what one of those is.

Has anyone else had this happen ? A member on the other site reported having problems yesterday on ITV2 (ch6) and I noticed More4 (ch18) freezing on every ad break today though the programme plays fine and also ITV2 freezing constantly for ad's and programme, the usual advance and return of the channels to break the freeze only works for a split second then it freezes again. The other person is based in the North whilst I am in the South of England.

Just noticed that ITV2+1 has moved to D3&4 and is now h264/MPEG-4. Also on that multiplex is ITV4+1 which appears to be a full service (also h264/MPEG-4). Meanwhile, back on SDN, ITV3+1 is still MPEG-2 but could be a full service.

I'm at a friend's, with an FVP-4000T (I think that's what the label on the bottom says). It has an RM-L08 remote handset with a FreeviewPlay button on it. Press the "recordings" button and it says there aren't any (she says there should be), but tellingly the screen display seems to say that it has zero capacity to record any. Can anyone suggest how to diagnose? I can't see a settings button on the remote. I've power-cycled it in hope... but that does not seem to have made a difference... Read more

I disconnected the HDD and plugged in my "Blue Light of death" 1800T 500GB. It worked! The red light reappeared, it responded to the remote, the tuner worked, TV received pictures. I then unplugged it, reconnected the HDD, plugged it back in - return of the "blue light of death". So yes, the Western Digital 500GB HDD is the thing to blame. Hello. One of my Humax HDR-Fox units is rebooting at boot-up process presumably around webif load. It's set NOT to disable packages on crash. I've managed to run a fixdisk (it was found in half-standby after a power cycle during boot). I didn't notice any red flags post fix. It seems to be recording from standby OK. Disk space is getting low. I've has a search but I'm not getting relevant results so could someone inform me or point me to the resolution steps please.

A while back Southern Water were hassling us to install meters. I carefully pointed out that it is a steel framed building, and tennis ball sized devices in the proposed locations would be screened by water tanks. I can only use a mobile by the window during a power cut when the cordless base station is off. The long story short is that I have some old HD recordings that I would like to preserve, and I want to understand what my options are. 1. Can existing HD recordings be decrypted? 2. I set the new series of Police interceptors to record on ch5 tonight at 8pm, I started watching it 10 mins after it started and then when I skipped the ad break it started to play the beginning again even though the time elapsed was showing correctly, I stopped it and started it again and it repeated the same flaw so I gave up and set it again for the Ch5+1. I finally found some time to look at integration with theTVDB.com again. Those with long memories may remember the initial attempt a few months back which was partially successful but highlighted some problems. I've just published webif 1.2.5-1 which contains a better implementation of this function. It's off by default but can be enabled via the settings page. It requires that your Humax has Internet connectivity... Read more
