We ran west out of Nehalem to 125.50 Monday and went 9 for 10 with the one loss being a break off. All on the troll with green/yellow xrap being the star but also got fish on a purple clone, pink clone and pink xrap. The fish were puking 2 inch anchovies all over the deck. Like others have said, the bite died about 1 but we ran into a double at 2:00 before heading in… No conversions, probably because the dumb skipper (me) forgot to load the IQF😱.

Duck season is not that far away. It's about time to get the decoys pressure washed. I could do it right after season. But I never thought it made sense to get cold and wet in Feb when I could do it in summer when it's 80f. Some will need anchor repairs. A few will have to go to decoy heaven if they have split seams, or suffered the wrath of a 12 ga at close range. I did touch up paint last year on most of em. Decoy QC is fun for me. Have a few scouting trips we want to do when the river... To Do List

Was wondering if anybody else has experienced these skinny minis breaking? We are not overstuffing them, and open them very carefully. It seems when opening them puts stress on them already. They seem to break in the same place. You can see in the picture the one on the bottom is starting to crack. I had a rotten banana out this morning that had the crease so I put a rubber band on it, soon as it got a fish it completely broken in half. Not too happy about this as they are not... Think I've pretty much decided on a set of new Swaro EL 10x42's for next season. Two questions: 1.) What is the best strategy for purchase? Seems like they are a firm $1,999. Are there anyways to get them for less? 2.) Talk me out of them? I don't want to have any regrets that I saved ~$500 and got something almost as good. But my mind is still somewhat open. Thanks!
