A thread for Insight spotters. From time to time we see Insights when we least expect them. I thought perhaps a thread full of only these encounters would be fun.. I'll start: I saw an Insight in Fort Benton Montana Monday June 26th about 11 am. Folks, Fort Benton is a small, small town on the Missouri River. I was there to take a canoe trip down the river. Semi self-driving in a G1 insight ?!?!?!?!!? I've made a lot of steps forward where I think it is technically feasible, and I'm SO EXCITED! Think a long drive made chill, by flipping a switch. Hi all! I might have random bits from my 2005 SSM 5MT if anyone is looking. rear and sides are kinda shot but the front is fine. I have picked up a 2001 FR CVT! I'm really curious as to if anyone has any experience sourcing/importing a CVT ECU with lean burn? The shifter button is also crumbling, I've managed to piece it back together with super glue for now but I think I need another one soon! Also may be curious as to if anyone has any early years OEM floormats? Thanks!

Based on a lot of recent work I have been doing using cheap $2 aliexpress CAN boards I have a prototype IMA Manual control system working. It works on the CR-Z & Insight G2 and probably the Fit/Civic HCH2. It is a 'man in the middle' device that modifies the IMA control packets on the IMA CAN line from the ECM to MCM. This new version is a cheap self assembly setup and uses a single 16F1825 PIC at 32mhz to do the work. I will get a through hole pcb done to make it nice and easy... MANUAL IMA Control for the CR-Z, Insight G2, FIT Hybrid and HCH2 Civic.

I want to change the spark plugs on my 2000 CVT - I suspect they're originals as the car's on 110k miles - fuel consumption is poor and car runs a bit 'lumpy' now and again. They are very reluctant to come out - started off OK but got tighter as they unscrewed - all 3 pretty much the same. I'm wary of shearing the plugs and looking for guidance on how best to do it - any top tips? Is it best to have engine cold or hot? All suggestions gratefully received.

Open to suggestions on how to find a loving home. About a hour north of Seattle. Has aprox 137,000 miles on engine, been sitting since I did hospice care for late husband, and can't afford to get it up and running. covered but dirty

Hi all, I'm hoping to get some advice... Have been driving my 04 Silver for some time with the power steering fuse out. Seems ridiculous to me to have power steering on these tiny cars! Aside from the EPS light, I can hardly tell the difference from when the fuse was in. However, compared to the steering on my 91 CRX-HF, the Insight steering is sluggish and sticky. Seems to have a lot of "stiction", which I cautiously assume is from the power steering motor and associated system. Has... Removing friction from steering system
