Sometimes we make silly ones. Sometimes we make big ones. Most of the time, you can make amends with a little help from your friends. Thankfully, in this case, we can. Thanks to our friends at Key Model World and Rainbow Railways, we can fix a rather embarrassing blunder and bring you a whole new opportunity to buy a very attractive Class 66! So, do you remember the limited edition Euro Class 66 No. 66794 “Steve Hannam” we made for Hornby Magazine/Key Model World? Yes, the one limited to just 300 pieces. Well, someone at Accurascale HQ got in a muddle, and we accidentally ordered 600 from the factory. This boo-boo of epic proportions came to light upon delivery. The egg was very much on our faces. So, what do we do? As a limited-edition, one-off livery locomotive, we couldn’t repaint or reshell the models, nor could we put them on general sale. However, during production, those wonderful people at GB Railfreight did us a wonderful turn. They renumbered the locomotive to 66694 in September 2025, reflecting the locomotive’s transition to a Class 66/6. With this information in hand, and with Key Model World’s blessing, we went to our friends at Rainbow Railways, who have now hand-renumbered the surplus models for us. These locomotives now represent the locomotive as it is in its current condition. With these now in stock, they are available to buy in the standard Accurascale box, for the same great price as the rest of the range. Therefore, if you fancy a colourful, up-to-the-mi

You know how it is, seeing some prototype and thinking, hmm now that would be good as a source of inspiration... The dicussion on Sligo elsewhere is a case in point, but I keep coming back to something simpler, less is more, that kind of thing. And then on Facebook a post on Mosney, piqued my curiosity. Partly it was seeing the signal box on the platform, looked just like this one I have https://www.hattons.co.uk/23342/bachmann_branchline_44_010_hampton_hill_signal_box_scenecraft_range/stockdetail and then then there is the simplicity of the track plan at Mosney, the double track mainline, the long loop, a bidirectional platform serving a holiday camp, in my mind's eye allows all sorts of interesting excursion traffic possibilities At the same time the double track just looks great for watching those trains go by, eg So folks, perhaps this is it? Finding inspiration as a cue to getting going with the layout, I am sure we all have the same kinds of prompts, the question is, will it become a reality?! cheers, Keith

It’s been a busy few weeks for our little industrial workhorses, and we’ve got an update on the delivery of our highly anticipated Hunslet Austerity tank engines. First up, the good news: all pre-orders for the locomotives contained in the first shipment have now been dispatched to our direct customers and retailers. If you were waiting for one of these models and placed your order for a locomotive in the first container, it should now be on its way to you! However, there is a small delay affecting some of the sound-fitted versions. The ESU sound decoders required for these models were delayed in reaching us, which has pushed back the final delivery of these locomotives. We’re now expecting these models to arrive in around 10 days time, so thankfully the wait is almost over. Two containers? That’s a lot of Austerity! There’s another reason for the split delivery, and it’s a rather nice problem to have: demand for the Hunslets has been absolutely massive. The response to these diminutive but characterful locomotives has exceeded expectations, with particularly strong demand for the Longmoor Military Railway pack. In fact, there were enough models ordered to require two containers to get everything moving! Rather than hold everything back until both containers arrived, we split the shipment. That means the first batch has already landed and pre-orders from that container have been packed and dispatched, while the remaining models are now following behind. Some are still availab

Hi Folks, I hope all are well. Would anyone by chance have a 2900 DMU they'd be willing to part ways with? I believe it's in a 3 car set up. I have attached picture below. Thanks as always, Ronan.
