Just got my VL fork - assembly / parts questions

Collecting parts for my UL-in-a-VL project, just got the fork. I’ve been searching online to no avail for a parts diagram to make sure I have all the neck / stem parts. Does anybody have a diagram, pictures, or parts diagram ? second question - is anyone making the offset rubber mount type risers that fit stock mounting on a VL fork ?

Vtwin mfg auto advance timer issues?

Just wondering if anyone here has had issues with the aftermarket autoadvance timers . If i set the timing how the book says , dash centered in the window and rotate the auto unit until it just breaks the points ( verified with multi meter ) the bike does not want to run at idle . It will cough back through the carb if I do get it to run and then its hard to restart . When I set the timing originally I scribed the base of the timer and made a small sharpie mark on the case . If i rotate the... Vtwin mfg auto advance timer issues?

Street Duty XLR Build

It's been a long time since I've built a bike, life happens and I decided to build this XLR'ish period XLCH stroker powered bike. I've collected parts from various places and other builds over the last fifteen years. Time to blow the dust off! I wanted to build something mid-late 60's with as many factory patina parts I could dig out of storage. Frame is XR found in a scrap yard many years ago, and yes I added kickstand mount when the frame needed some lower cradle repairs. Interesting... Street Duty XLR Build

Bdl adjustment panhead

Hello all, Put a bdl 1 1/2 kit on my 49' el. Will be closed primary converting from chain. Have everything together and straight best I can tell with a straight edge. Is the front drive pulley supposed to have this much space open on the pulley or is it supposed to sit snug to the edge. Everything is tight and straight but that space on the pulley looked odd to me. Any thoughts? Does this look normal

Getting U back to the road

Hi folks, I have had a long break from building my chopper, and here is one of the reasons. I want his old flathead to work like it should, so i took the carb out. Spotted a few problems just looking at it, like worn out choke shaft and throttle plate not closing completely, it also had too long bolts. The gasket between carb and intake manifold was probably leaking. I remember my grandfather had this carb out about... Getting U back to the road

Mikuni VM38 on a UL

Does anyone run one? If so, what jets and needle are you guys using for your BTSV?

Harley juice drum brake

I have a rear brake setup that is dragging after I step on the rear brake pedal and release it. If I crake the bleeder valve the press is released. It’s the late 60’s juice drum brake on my 1969 Shovelhead. Unfortunately the components are all Vtwin. There only a couple years old though. I’m thinking my wheel cylinder might be bad and I did find a decent Wagner Lockheed wheel cylinder body in my parts. Does anyone know if a decent rebuild kit is still made for them.
