I have the Stadium XL with my ToneX in the loop. Sonically, I find the Proxy very comparable to the ToneX captures—at least to my ears. Since I play a wide variety of styles and was already using a sort of "pedalboard strategy" with my "standard" Helix, I’ll likely stick with this setup. That means I have six main presets, each with matching pedals (Clean/Pop, Blues, Rock, etc.) and a corresponding Agoura amp—which can even be tweaked per snapshot (something that’s really easy to do since the Stadium update). I have the ToneX pedal in the loop, which I can use to replace the amp if needed. This gives me incredible tonal variety right at my feet, as the ToneX offers so many more amps (and gain stages, plus Bright, Balance, and Fat controls) ready to go. It’s also cool to be able to switch between the Agoura and the ToneX across snapshots (e.g., Clean vs. High Gain). I really like that. So, for now, I’m sticking with ToneX (mainly because of the workflow). If things get really wild, I can patch in my iPad and use NAM within Genome2 as a third option...

I will be creating a new clone soon. The goal is that the new one will not be required to reduce post gain. Once I have that one and a channel 2 crunch ready I will see about posting on Customtone. As always, thanks for your help & support. Dennis

Are you set to manually connect the Stadium to the app once you log in to the app or are you actually set to automatically connect and it isn't working which forces you to manually connect? Dennis

@Wondo100 My first thought is that the Agoura amp models are very easy to use and adjust to taste. Of course Is there an specific real world guitar amplifier you like the tone of? And/or is there a guitarist you are wanting to emulate as far as tone? I have used the Tonex with my Stadium XL and, while I like it, I am also using proxy to model two of my amps and getting quite good results based upon the tone I like - it is of course all subjective. As to the combined use question - One of the other guitarist at church has been using the Tonex with the Stadium XL and just purchased the newest Tonex Board which he used last Sunday. Proxy has not fully developed yet and very minimal tones out there. Maybe the Tonex would be good, but I am curious if I could somehow get close to Lifeson tone through the Agoura models or Hope Proxy eventually provided tones of similar amps that I can incorporate into the whole Helix Stadium ecosystem.

Ok, so after some more digging using AI to help navigate possible fixes.... It seems the 'ARM-based processor' is the problem. According to AI, "will not work until Line 6 releases native ARM64 drivers. The HX Edit application itself (preset editor/librarian) can run through Windows 11’s x86/x64 emulation layer. However, the Line 6 USB Audio Driver operates at the kernel level, which Windows 11 Prism/emulation cannot translate for ARM processors (like Qualcomm Snapdragon)." I can't seem to find anything specific for this.... Does anyone more CPU savvy know if this driver package exists? Or is there a way to get it? I'm all done playing live, I have my jam room all setup and the only thing to complete was getting HX Edit to work on this compatibility issue. If it makes sense to try a ticket, I will, I just don't know if they will support the older gen software compatibility at this point though.

Ultimately, if you think you can get a sound that inspires you to play more with a Tonex pedal, go for it. The only right answer is the one that you think sounds best. I used a Tonex One with my HX Stomp before upgrading to the Stadium XL. Once I did (and Proxy came along), I didn't feel the need any more mostly because the XL was big enough, sounded/felt fine enough, and I didn't want to carry anything else around lol.

I have around 250 presets. So.... All of them are basically variations on my main core sound. The main settings: distortion, amp/cab, light delay, solo EQ all stay the same. Every song preset that I create has some kind of a quirk, or a unique signature thing. So I start with browsing through the previous presets, pick the one that suits me and tweak. Like for example, I know that preset number 076 has a nice acoustic guitar sound, and preset number 2 in another playlist has that awesome envelope filter. So I go and combine them, copy blocks/paste blocks. It's so convenient! Because for example the envelope filter is so finicky! It works for one song but doesn't work for another, unless I change the setting slightly. I may want to dress up my lead sound with some vintage fuzz in this one 70's song. I may want to add some kind of a synthesizer solo for this other song. Every song has different rhythm, dynamics, and even the same lead sound does not always work -- it needs a different BPM for example, sometimes it needs to be louder/softer based on what the other musicians are doing. I want to handle all the sound changes myself, and not have the sound guy try to guess where my solo is.... My goal is to have the sound guy not make any adjustments to my sound at all, just plug and play. So in short, for the variety of stuff I'm currently playing the preset-per-song is the way to go. Plus it makes the layout so much simpler because you don't add unnecessary junk that doesn't appl

Interesting topic. I too have been with Line6 since the bean days (will not even guess at the dates:)). I now have the Stadium XL. I do like a lot of the features and sounds it has, however there are some quirks. I notice sometimes the volume on presets change depending on when you select the preset. Line 6 guys traced it down to the Ampeg B15 cab which is what I always used with the OG Helix. The other amps sounded to prickly (and yes I did the high cuts) on high gain stuff. The B15 smoothed those out. The XL's cabs seem better (to me) though I still find myself liking the dirty to high gain sounds better when adding the B15 to the cabs. I was listening to some recordings or our band back when I used the HD500X going into either the DT25 or the return loop of a Peavy Classic 20 (or 50, can't remember). I was blown away with that sound! I definitely do not have that sound with my current setup. Yes, the current setup is either coming through the board, then monitors; or going through the PC112+ or PC212+ cabs. It is good, just wish I could get that HD sound for the dirty to high gain. That was a long winded way of saying, that while I love the Stadium (and Helix)... there is a lot to be said on what you could get with the HD setup. Especially for a Santana vibe.

I really don't use snapshots (well sometimes), mainly like it in Stomp mode. When I first got the floor, I really didn't like how many steps it took to get to the spot to change presets, (I'm sure I missed something) so what I have started doing is in the Stomp B (set?), I used the Command Center to add a next and previous preset to two footswitches. That lets me change presets by just switching from Stomp A to Stomp B and this has really helped. I use the "kitchen sink" approach, where I have multiple sounds based on an Amp (or two). I do this for the different type of amp styles to give me slight variations in what I can use. I never change a preset in a song. I have not needed to because on most all amps you can go from clean to nasty in one preset. You may need two amps, but that is doable in my experience. Just some background, I have been a gigging musician for several decades (yes, old one here :)) playing clubs to festivals (not a lot, but enough to say I've done it :)). I appreciate the preset per song people and can see its value, however, I found that most of our songs will fit into a few "kitchen sinks" so I use that method. A question for the preset per song people. Do you find that you are starting with the same template (or preset) for most of you songs and tweaking from there?
