I'm running v7.5.3 of the Kindle for Mac software. Anything newer and some other software I have won't do its job properly. I did notice the Kindle app updated itself and I had to delete the new app and re-install the older app. I was wondering how I might stop the app from updating. Both 7.5.3 and the newer version (ver# unknown right now) have no switch to stop auto-updatingn like older Kindle apps (and Amazon ignores that setting anyway). I've done a Finder "get info" on the v7.5.3 app and checked the "Locked" checkbox. (The padlock at the lower right of the window shows it locked but, now with the "Locked" checkbox enabled, that padlock is dimmed (can't be clicked). I'm thinking this might do the job but there are better minds here that might wish to advise/comment. Thanks!

Got given a galaxy gt-p7500 android 4.0 after factory reset and does not upgrade. Try to connect to the content server on 192.168.178.22:8080 local works. As the browser is OLD i want to apply the /mobile but have no idea how. All i try , not working on the pad before and after the URL. It would be a nice reading pad,all would work if not for the lock-ins start to get a DRM taste. Any tips and hints very welcome as my asorty curses to google grow per minute P.S. On the raspberry on the LAN it works perfectly,only ask for https setup,wil not do that as the pad will have no HTTPS

Hello Calibre forum, I had some trouble finding a way to contact the Calibre developers (no e-mail on the website?). I hope this is not an entirely wrong place... Boox has announced some new devices that are more or less the same as before (Note Air6 C and Palma 3, now with Android 16, which is already dated since 17 was released on June 16, 2026), a mee-too-product (Picco) or a semi-replacement of older Boox products (Note Mini C although the screen is larger than on the Tab Mini C). All in all, it looks rather boring. I wonder why they don't include 4G/5G on the Palma 3. It makes no sense to me to have a smartphone-shaped device you can't use as a phone. Who wants to carry two devices? And why do they list the Note Mini C and the Note Air6C both with the same price (US$579.99)?

Running Calibre itself (not web) and using the content server on Windows 11, and have two libraries because I need a specific format of epub for a given device and use standard epubs for everything else. OPDS works great, but I'm wondering if there is a way to tailor what a given reader will show. Specifically I'm wondering if two different things are possible - 1) Is there a way to default to a specific library via OPDS, possible through the URL being used? I can select one library or the other with the OPDS reader, but it would be nice to just default to a specific one. 2) Is there a server side way to limit which categories are fed to OPDS? I don't need to be able to browse by publisher, language, or rating as an example. Is there a way to stop those from being sent?
