Yeah you read it right, about 45 years ago I built a Monogram Do-17z in 1/72. The funny part is I still have the model and it isn't in too bad a condition. The point of this isn't to build the same kit again (Oh HECK NO!) I am going to build up the new Airfix tool Do-17z with all the goodies I could get. Still not sure if I will go for a different decal set (of which there are a few) For now it is going to be just build the kit and see what I can make of it. In addition it will be a... Read more

Before and after... "Side-view of four shot pod . Rocket pod and mini was installed and serviced by Tony "Limey" Holmes." "LOH during run-up for testing, after installation of 4 rocket pod and mini. Rockets were usually W-P to mark targets for Guns. We usually had to throw smoke anyway. Pilot on left Rodney Orten. I only have one image of her but it does let me know some things needed for the build: Twin miniguns in the M28 turret (configuration E) along with the M35 20mm gun under the port inner pylon (G). The question is what to hang under the starboard inner pylon? XM-158A1 on the three remaining pylons? XM-159 on the inner starboard pylon and XM-158A1 on the outer pylons? Well, I am leaning towards this configuration! Lots of... Read more
Using the fuselage I started for The Great Spekled Bird 67-15798 C Troop 16 Cav , I will instead use this for our own Gary's ride, The Henchman II. I was excited when I got the decals from ASK for the Centaurs but was quickly disappointed in that the artwork reflects the earlier Cobra and lacks the tongue. However, @centaur567 has provided clear imagery needed for me to make my own artwork! I know I am no artist like @Greg Kimsey or Ian @Brokeneagle but I will... Read more
I got this from an Airbourne buddy. Shawn Enjoy The 213 Things Skippy is No Longer Allowed to Do in the U.S. Army Once upon a time, there was a SPC Schwarz stationed with the US Army in the Balkans. SPC Schwarz was either very clever or very bored; but probably both, since he managed to attempt or be warned about 213 things he wasn't allowed to do. He collected those things into a hillarious list and posted them to the web. The site hadn't been updated in a couple of years and has since... Read more
A beginning…
Starting this for a Secret Santa build...ordered some lights from Evan Designs...so far just the lounge done.
I love the concept of this but putting all that effort into something that doesn’t fly and is never really finished kills it for me. The wood is obviously laser cut which helps. I remember hours carefully cutting out wing ribs that were just printed on to sheet balsa to build gliders. I used to build a glider called a Keil kraft dolphin, I hate to think how many I built but they flew superbly, and a quick search shows they still make it 60 years on I remember I used to use a large cork mat... Ok, I am going to attempt another car. My last two have ended badly and unfinished. I hope to somewhat follow the dude from A4 Garage on youtube. This guys has skills I don't fully understand, and I will not set myself up for failure by trying to reach his level, but will do my best to be close to his results using his videos as a guide. I started with the engine bay. I cut the battery off to set up making tha battery apron. I have a... Read more

A photo of LtGen Sir Brian Horrocks, Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery and MajGen Sir Colin 'Tiny' Barber. MajGen Barber was 6'9" and believed to be the tallest man in the British Army during WW2. FM Montgomery is believed to be 5'7" (although his height seems to still be a military secret) and LtGen Horrocks was about 5'11". Cheers, RichB
