So, this one has been a bit of a saga so should begin from the beginning. Was in the middle of cutting the field when the mower started blowing smoke out the valve cover and overheating. Was able to make it back to the barn, but it was cooking. When I was able to get it started again it rattled a lot so thought the water pump was pooched. I dropped the oil pan, (what an absolute pain with that thick plate!) and found bits in the bottom and the con rod flopping around. ended up #3, (the... F935 Yanmar No Start

4020 been causing some headaches this summer. Began with not wanting to start unless choke, throttle and fingers crossed just right, but when it started and warmed up ran perfect. Then wouldn't start at all, replaced full filter and then pump. Started great ran fine one time. Next use it started right up and began hunting. I've tried to locate any leaks in the intake with carb cleaner without luck. Took the jet out of the carb and cleaned everything as best as I can everything seems to... 4020 engine hunting
I have a 2011 Bad Boy ZT with a 27hp Kohler in it. It's been well-used, somewhat abused at times. I inherited it when my in-laws bought a new model. The motor normally runs around 3100 rpm, if I'm not mistaken, but lately, it will suddenly hesitate, or usualy, just drop to about 25-2800 rpm and I have to slow down to keep cutting (more whacks at the grass). I replaced the air filter which needed changing badly. Underneath the airfilter, it's quite dirty. I replaced the air filter and it... 27hp Kohler loss of rpm/power. Intermittently runs well.
Cub cadet zt1 runs for approximately 30 mins then kills. After a short rest it runs for 5 mins or so kills again repeating this pattern. A fresh start for 30 then short increments after. My neighbor claims this repeating pattern. I'm going look at it tomorrow but would appreciate any tips. With so little information it's hard to diagnose. I understand. Air and fuel filter is new. Could it be overheating thus causing the pattern? Any shot in the dark is appreciated.
Working on my neighbors tractor. He let me borrow it to move some dirt. He told me the brakes didn't work and that a piece broke off. I had a look and the casting that holds the pivot pin for the brake pedals broke off both sides. Being cast iron it won't weld easily. All I have is a mig. I was thinking of unbolting the valve from the side of the transmission and making a metal plate for both sides with holes for the pivot pin and then sandwiching... 1970 JD 2020 brake valve
I bought a Cat 303.5se from a local company. When they reach 4,000 hrs they sell them. I bought it to dig my pond behind the house bigger. After I dug the first strip and it took 200 loads with the tractor loader I bought a 7x12 dump trailer which works pretty well. I was digging leaving a 10ft gap from the water and was working great until a section collapsed and filled my dig with water. I worked my tail off about 10 years ago fixing and building up the *** so I can’t bring myself to... Cat 303.5se
Hi All, I found an old thread, same title, and I have one of the engines. Never had any gas in it or run. I've had it for over ten years, purchased from a local park district that had forgotten about it in storage. Was in the original crate/box with manual that I still have somewhere. Anyway, I would be glad to share info for someone that is interested. This engine is for sure built for heavy use.
I’m torn between the SHANDING model with a cab and the one without. I’ll use it in my orchard. Could you tell me the pros and cons of each?
Hello guys, followin up on my heat thread from last month. Ran the deck at 4.5" like yall suggested and it def helped, but I still got some sad lookin patches where the afternoon sun really hammered the yard. Mostly fescue/bluegrass mix. Nights are finally droppin into the 50s here so I'm thinkin fall overseed on the bare spots. Never actually done it before, always just let the yard sort itself out come spring. Question for yall, do I gotta rent an aerator first or can I get away with just... Overseedin the burnt spots, worth it or just wait til spring?

Couldn't find where I had started a post on MTF about my rural property in southwest Wisconsin. Property is 8 acres which about 3 acres is cleared and was the site for an old farmstead. The other 5 acres is wooded hillside. There was an old log cabin on the site but razed before I bought the property. Site has a concrete root cellar in the hillside that like everything else need work to develop it into a usable ?. There is a spring from the hillside that on the farmstead that captured cold...
