Hi all, previously I’ve been feeding lifetime pellets during winter (not Harrison’s, thought I’ve now switched to Harrison’s). Now what am I going to do. I had a Dr. apt today and when I was looking up the address with google maps I noticed a pet shop near by. Online it looked like they had birds so I figured it was worth a stop. The first bird I see at the very back of the store is a beautiful Congo African Grey. Howdy friends! I currently have a nearly 10 year old female whiteface lutino hen named Nirah. She has been an absolute joy and I adore her to bits. Working with my flock, each one has their own way of doing things. Yukon (cockatiel) He is the most advanced in training. If I try something new he will try it right away. I have a scale I ask him to perch on it and right away he not afraid to leave the cage area. He jump on it I got his weight. Stepped up and he was fine. Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum and I live in Australia. I am in need of help for any information from members who have a Featherland stainless steel cage as my Quaker chews her powder coated cage. I’m going to be 100% honest here. I hate cleaning bird cages. It’s time consuming, and I don’t enjoy scrubbing dried up for 5-10 minutes. I wanted to see how others do this as I’d like to be more efficient, and still get the job done. This is just how I do it: I cut up old t shirts to clean my parrots cage. I almost can't believe I'm posting this, but... I AM! Many of you have received portraits of your parrots from me; each one was a joy! My macaw was adopted a little over a year ago. He from my understanding was in a very small cage for his size. He was not out of the cage for years on end on top of it. His body shows this. Yes he is vet checked. When he is on my forearm he’s unsteady, and I can feel him being intense (afraid to fall). He will stumble some. He’s not like other macaws that can hang upside down from a forearm easily. The strength is not there. He gets snippy when he loses his balance too. I’ve thought about... Read more
